21 Chapter 21 – Twin Dragons (1/2)

Zhu Xuan and Bai Ling walked towards the Inner city wall, leaving a terrified group of people behind them.

They didn't talk on the way and walked side by side. Bai Ling realised Zhu Xuan was not in a good mood and she was not sure what to tell him so she kept silent.

Bai Ling showed her clan emblem at the entrance of the inner city wall and they both entered the inner city. After they walked a while, Zhu Xuan stopped, looked up at the sky and calmed himself down.

He let out a sigh, turned and faced Bai Ling and spoke ”Bai Ling, I'm really sorry about how I acted earlier. He said something he shouldn't have and I have lost myself in anger. I'm sorry if I created any trouble for you.”

Bai Ling relaxed after hearing Zhu Xuan and said ”It's not a problem at all Young master Shen. He is the one who was out of line, and truthfully I was also bothered by him but unable to do anything to him because he has theclan's Grand Elder behind him.”

She paused and continued ”You should be careful when you leave. He is a malicious person and he might do something to you.”

Zhu Xuan smiled and said ”Don't worry, I will be careful.”

She was about to say something but she controlled herself and didn't speak of it. But Zhu Xuan saw her reactions and deduced that she wanted to ask something, so he said ”What is it Bai Ling? You seemed like you wanted to ask something to me.”

Bai Ling stuttered a bit and finally said ”It's just that can I ask what it is he said that made you so angry? I didn't mean to ask about your personal matters, but I have seen you before fighting in anger and killing Cai Guo, but this time I felt you remembered something really bad and lost yourself.”

Zhu Xuan didn't know what he should say to her inquiry. But he looked at her sincere face; he sighed and started speaking with a sad tone ”I lost someone because I acted like a coward in the past. I don't know whether I could have saved that person if I didn't act cowardly, but I feel guilty for not trying to act and hiding like a coward and that still hurts me. Since then, I always acted without cowardice and do everything I feel right.”

He paused and let out a deep breath and then continued ”And since then, whenever someone called me a coward, it brings back that memory and it deeply angers me.”

Bai Ling silently listened to what he said and thought back to how he saved them twice in the Mountain, fighting the warthogs without any fear, and later took them to his place for them to heal instead of leaving them to die. She felt he was a brave person and someone who do what he feels right at that time, but she never thought there is such a reason behind his way of doing things.

She also wondered who it is that Zhu Xuan lost, but since he is not willing to say, she didn't ask. She looked up at his face and found him looking at the sky with a sad face. She subconsciously reached her hand and touched his hand to comfort him. Zhu Xuan jolted awake from his memories when he felt the touch and looked at Bai Ling who looked at him with a concerned face.

He wondered why he said all these to Bai Ling. He hadn't shared his feelings about the death of his mother with anyone before, not to his Father and not even to his Sister Shenmi. But he felt strangely peaceful after talking about this to Bai Ling.

He smiled at her kindly and said ”Thanks Bai Ling for worrying about me. I'm fine now.”

That's when Bai Ling realised she has been holding his hands and suddenly took her hand away with a flushed face. Zhu Xuan looked at her flushed face and smiled. They then continued walking towards the Qinglu Treasures pavilion.

After walking for a while, they reached the Qinglu treasure pavilion and entered the pavilion. Bai Ling calmed down by now and she asked ”Where do you want to go first Young master Shen?”

Qinglu Treasure pavilion has everything in the pavilion unlike the clans. For example, his Zhu clan apart from technique pavilion also has blacksmith pavilion, resources pavilion, alchemy pavilion. But Qinglu pavilion has all of them in a single pavilion, divided into various sections. It even has array master section, jewellery section, and rare treasures section etc., basically you can buy anything you want here in Qinglu treasures pavilion.
