17 Chapter 17 – Returning to the Zhu Clan (2/2)
Zhu Xuan saw there were two old men sitting at the entrance of the pavilion in a deep conversation. They are the elders responsible for the technique pavilion. He walked up to the old men, bowed and said respectfully ”Elders, I need to enter the technique pavilion”
The two elders stopped talking, looked up at the person in front of them. Something passed through their eyes when they saw it was Zhu Xuan, but they didn't react anymore and replied calmly ”Go on and enter.”
Zhu Xuan took out the Zhu clan emblem and entered the barrier at the entrance of the building. Only clan people with the Zhu clan emblem can enter the pavilion.
Technique pavilion has four floors. The first floor is the library where one can find details about information regarding cultivation like the issues one face in cultivation process and breakthroughs, and the basic information about cultivation resources and where to find them, how to identify them etc. There are also few sections with books about information of demon beast's categories, herbs, alchemy, weapons, techniques knowledge.
Second floor had techniques and mantra for Body purification stage cultivators, where as third floor has techniques for Qi Gathering stage cultivators.
Fourth floor has Zhu clan's most guarded precious Absorption mantras, high level techniques and even rumoured to have Qi Sea level techniques and mantras. Only the main hall clan elders and clan patriarch allowed entry inside the fourth floor.
Zhu Xuan's aim for coming to the techniques pavilion was to study in the library. He is lacking too much knowledge when it comes to cultivation, demon beasts, knowledge about the kingdom, etc. At least he had some knowledge about herbs thanks to his aunt, but he needs to learn more about this world first if he needed to gain a standing in here and moreover Zhu Xuan hate being an ignorant person. He set aside his thoughts and started reading through the books.
Time passed by and three days went by.
He didn't leave the pavilion for three days, not even to eat and sleep, and immersed himself in reading.Zhu Xuan learnt a lot in these three days regarding the kingdom, categories of demon beasts, their habitats and their weakness, about Alchemists, Blacksmiths, Array masters and various other insignificant details, but he was happy to learn. As far as he was concerned, more he learned the better it is for him even if the knowledge is insignificant. But, the most knowledge he gained in these three days was regarding the techniques and cultivation issues and breakthroughs.
After reading, he especially found two major problems which gave him a big headache about his cultivation.
First, he will need to acquire quite a lot of resources for his cultivation, and now he understood why Senior Long said it's not easy to cultivate with his Seven Phases elemental roots. He learned cultivators of body purification stage absorb the Qi not only to purify their body, but also to nurture the Qi inside their body to attack the dantian when breaking though Qi gathering stage. They will need resources and techniques to nurture their Qi. There are too many resources and in different categories.
For example, fire elemental root cultivators needs mainly Fire stones and Fire Qi pills, but they are also divided into categories of low, middle, high and peak grade stones or pills based on the amount on the fire Qi and impurities present in them. He was sure he is going to burn through gold coins and he will be always be poor how much ever gold he got.
The second problem is auxiliary techniques. To nurture the Qi in your body, you not only need resources but also techniques to guide them through specific channels that accept specific elemental Qi. And since he has seven types of elements, he needs to learn and practice seven auxiliary techniques.
Basically he needs to put seven times more work than other cultivators and he also understood now why only his fire Qi had improved whereas the other Qi stayed the same as when he activated his elemental roots. He also lamented at the fact he wasted so many elemental resources of different Qi, other than fire Qi elemental resource.
He also realised even though he is breaking through easily now, only his fire element is being nurtured, whereas the others are not. It will cause an imbalance in his body and also he will be unable to breakthrough to Qi gathering stage in his lifetime, He needs to build a stead base nurturing all his elemental Qi.
When he thought through his problems, he turned and looked at the barrier in the distance which is the entrance to the second floor of the pavilion.
