12 Chapter 12 – Reaching Seventh Stage of Body Purification (1/2)
Zhu Xuan peeked out at the entrance of the cave cautiously.
The place was eerily silent and there was no sign of any living thing anywhere close-by. He walked out and found 8 dead people on the ground. He thought ”Looks like 2 escaped, and the warthog chased after them.”
He started collecting the loot from the dead people. When he was almost finished looting them, he heard a loud roar from the direction of the lake.
He had a bad feeling about it. He immediately set off towards the lake. He reached the lake in a few minutes and what he saw made him really angry.
Bai Ling and Bai Wuji were facing the Warthog in a distance; they looked bloodied all over and exhausted. There are three people surrounding the warthog, not moving. They are the other three people from Bai clan, and it looks like they already died at the hands of the warthog. And close to his direction, he saw Cai Guo, and an old man with one of his hands torn off, hiding behind a tree showing their backs to him and looking at the battle.
Zhu Xuan understood that those two Cai family people knew they can't defeat the warthog, and so they draw it towards the lake and diverted its attention to the Bai clan people. He couldn't help but feel a chill in his heart thinking how despicable and cunning this Cai family acted without any morals. He couldn't help bet relate them to his sister Shenmi from his previous life and second brother Zhu Lang from this life and his blood boiled in anger.
Consumed by rage, he formed a sword with his fire Qi and dashed towards the two people of Cai family who were hiding behind a tree. The old man next to Cai Guo detected something and turned around. He saw the young man with powerful killing intent dashing towards them, aiming the blade at his young master.
He caught Cai Guo with his one hand and pulled him away, but Zhu Xuan's sword still caught the old man's hand and sliced it off of his body. He fell on his back with blood now flowing from his severed hand.Zhu Xuan ignored the old man and turned towards Cai Guo.
Cai Guo was terrified out of his wits. He had a close call with death earlier with the warthog, but he cleverly diverted it towards the Bai clan people and safely escaped. He was only hiding nearby and rejoicing on their sad fate caused by him, when this young man attacked him out of nowhere. He had no idea who Zhu Xuan was and why he was trying to killing him with such ferocity.
He shouted lividly at Zhu Xuan ”Please, please don't kill me”
But Zhu Xuan didn't hear his voice at all. He swung his blade towards Cai Guo's neck and his head fell to the ground.He turned towards the old man and was about to attack when he heard another roar from the Warthog.
He looked at the direction of the battle and saw the warthog charging at Bai Ling and Bai Wuji. Pulling Bai Ling with her, Bai Wuji tried to sidestep, but they were still grazed by the warthog and flew a distance and fell down.
The old man from Cai family used the momentary lapse of distraction of Zhu Xuan to get up and escape into the forest. Zhu Xuan didn't chase after the old man. He knew if he didn't go help, Bai Ling and her uncle will definitely be killed. So he moved towards the warthog at a fast speed.
He formed two fireballs in both of his hands and threw it at the warthog, before it had a chance to charge again at the two from Bai clan. He shouted at the two people ”Don't attack it and stay low, I will draw the beast away.”
Fireball hit the warthog, one on its face and one at its side. It stopped and looked at Zhu Xuan with blood red eyes in anger. He threw two more fireballs at it, but the warthog dodged it this time and gave a loud roar filled with rage and charged crazily towards him. Zhu Xuan turned around and ran towards the forest away from the two.
