19 Day 91 - 95 (1/2)
- Day 91
My group and I decided to head back to the Dungeon again today. Considering the improvements that each member has made in the past few times coming here, I think that they're ready to at least attempt to beat the boss. If they can't handle it, then I'll interfere, but only if it looks really bad.
When we made it back to the boss room, the giant Cherufe appeared once more and began its attack. I informed them of its skills as they fought, ranging from it's powerful lava torrents to its mana siphoning tendrils. After about two hours of constant fighting, they managed to beat it. Dou and Hazuki dealt with the tendrils by cutting them off with long range sword skills, Sei and Fu provided magic assistance while the others managed to sever its arms, forcing its head to the ground in time for Rinbo to deal the finishing blow with his lance.
After healing everyone, I congratulated them on a job well done and gave them each a gift in celebration. It seems that because they took so long and worked in a group, they didn't gain much in terms of skills so the gifts were appreciated. As for Lisbeth and the three former temporary troops, I disabled and removed their slave collars, telling them that if they wanted to leave, I wouldn't stop them, however I would gladly accept the capable group if they wished to stay. They replied immediately, saying that they would have it no other way.
That night, Hazuki asked to speak to me alone and the end result was that she wished to officially become one of my vassals in both body and soul. I could see the serious look in her eyes that showed this wasn't a decision made lightly. I agreed and saw the first smile I think she's shown since being here, other than when I healed her eye. I decided to show her just how much I appreciated her offering to become my vassal and spent the night together...let's just say that I found some interesting ways to make use of that tail of hers.
- Day 92
I spent today sparring with Dou who seems to have improved by leaps and bounds through the training in the Gehenna Dungeon. Without the use of skills, he almost managed to beat me a few times.
After this, I spent some time with Emery, preparing for the trip outside the forest coming up soon. Taking a page out of Rou's tattered book, I created a Golem carriage made of black skeleton bones with Golem Eyes instead of wheels, allowing it to float and deal with any suspension issues that may have occurred otherwise. After that was done, I went back to the dungeon with Hazuki and tamed some Hell Horses to use as draft horses and pull the carriage along.
Looking at the finished product when we returned, it did seem a little out of place so I tested {Disguise} on them and managed to make them look like regular horses pulling a regular carriage. This should be good enough.
When I went back inside, I was greeted by the sight of Cilia who had Ranked up to a {High Elf}. She showed me her wings in private that night.
- Day 93
We spent today celebrating the end of the war between the elves and the humans, the completion of the new upgrades to the base and welcoming the new recruits with a feast.
During the feast, I wound up speaking to a female Dragonewt about her companions. Apparently with everyone leaving temporarily, the Half Fire Lord and his allies have mixed feelings and ended up drinking themselves into a stupor.
Another thing I learned from Ramura the Dragonewt, is that many human towns and cities have poor opinions of Demi-humans and monsters. This came as no surprise of course and when I asked where she was going with this, I started to see that she had slightly flushed cheeks from drinking a little too much alcohol.
She then began telling me that a Ghoul like myself will likely not be very welcome in the cities and that I would likely only be able to enter as a slave of some sort. When I told her that I had Cilia the High Elf, Lisbeth the human, Sigul the Sentinel or Dou the Half Gale Lord if I needed such a thing, she began to pout. When I gave in and asked if she wanted to come with us, she began hugging my arm and wouldn't let go for the rest of the night.
