Turning over the front hardcover page. Adam began reading the book.

'The continent we live on is called the Gordian continent. What kind of moron needs to be told this?

Recorded history dates the creation of the continent back to almost 2 million years. I'm sure I don't have to explain how long that is to you right?

It is said that there once used a exist a mega-continent. Sentient beings with incomparable knowledge and civilizations would be in constant turmoil to fight for the favour of the gods. You at least know about the gods right?

In this chaotic time, a relic of incomparable brilliance fell from the heavens. All the major kingdoms commenced a war to win possession over this relic.

An epic war was waged. Spanning over centuries.

All sentient races were almost on the brink of extinguishing themselves when the gods intervened.

Judging the mortal races for their foolishness in almost destroying themselves. The furious gods tore the continent into four parts and separated the lands from each other.

The Gordian continent is said to be one of them. This is all just hearsay. However, it is the most probable of the theories. Giving us a glimpse of what it might have been like before recorded history. Though I'm sure you won't understand the intricacy behind it anyway.'

”I can't take this seriously with all these infuriatingly condescending remarks!. But this is exactly what I've been looking for.” Adam murmured to himself.

”This is truly a little difficult to concentrate on seriously young master. I'm sorry. I was told by the store owner that this was the best book for kids to learn.” Fen read along with him and was also affected by the constant remarks of the author that directly targeted the reader. She pouted slightly and was getting ready to close the book to go return it to the store.

”Please don't be sorry, big sis. This is truly what I've been looking for. We just have to ignore the remarks.” He explained.

This book truly was informative if the quirks could be avoided. 'something must be wrong with that store owner's head though. How can he suggest this for kids?'

”If young master insists. This person who wrote this is truly vulgar though.” Fen voiced her discontent. She was someone who was constantly being taught the arts, calligraphy and in general sophistry.

In her refined outlook that placed manners and elegance above all, this book truly was vulgar.

Adam hearing her consent immediately began flipping through the book in her hands. It was truly too hard to read so he got the sentient mind to read through and summarize the book for him. He could directly transfer the information to his mind but these things were better to be done thoroughly.

This would determine his base knowledge of the world he had to live in after all.

.....

Within a second the summary was compiled.

This was a world of magic. Magicules were the main source of energy that was harnessed from the environment by all lifeforms.

It is believed that magicules played a vital role in the evolution of species leading to the various races.

This world was one that was constantly plagued by danger. Danger came from the environment in the form of dungeons.

Dungeons were the bread and butter of this world.

Dungeons where naturally formed structures. They came in a lot of various different form's but they all had one thing in common. All dungeons had a cave entrance.

The cave entrances to dungeons were entrances to its inner realm. It was found that dungeons would not penetrate into the ground but would rather be a dimension of itself. The entrances of the cave as such were the only way to get in and no shortcuts to lower levels could be excavated.

Every dungeon contains different levels. Every level was a floor that contained monsters of different powers and attributes. The danger and difficulty of a level would increase the lower one traversed into a dungeon.

Though it was not confirmed, the general consensus was that the older a dungeon was the more levels it would contain within itself. Dungeons were constantly but slowly evolving. It would take at least 100 or so years for a dungeon to form a new level.

Each level would contain a certain number of monsters and would spawn new ones within 2-4 hours of the number decreasing.

If a Dungeon was left untouched it would continue spawning monsters. All dungeons had an accommodation amount that it would not exceed. The monsters would be expelled into the outside world when they exceeded a certain amount. This was an unwritten rule of all dungeons.

It is said that all monsters In the outside world originate from dungeons. This was not completely false. The world contained its own ferocious animals. The introduction of monsters to the ecosystem led to the eradication or the interbreeding of the species leading to the current population of monsters in the current environment.
