Chapter 108 - Ross’ Report (1/2)
“Are you alright?”
Haccid lifted his eyes at the question. Although he was groaning in pain a second ago, now he seemed fine.
“Soo Hyuk?”
“Yes, it is me.”
“How are you here…?”
“I came to rescue you.”
“I see…”
Haccid said and then let out a deep sigh.
“Thank you.”
Was it because he calmed down after the sight? Or was it the effects of “Heal”? Haccid’s voice became more vigorous.
“No problem. Can you stand up?”
“The chains…”
The reply faded out towards the end, and Haccid lowered his gaze. Soo Hyuk followed Haccid’s gaze and saw chains binding Haccid’s legs.
“Oh, it hasn’t come off yet.”
In the drop window that appeared after Soo Hyuk killed the three men, an entry was called “a key for the chains.” Soo Hyuk pressed confirm and received the drops and took out the key to free Haccid.
“Hold on a second.”
The chains fell off a few seconds later.
Was it because Haccid was chained for too long? Soo Hyuk cast two more heals on Haccid, but Haccid still couldn’t move his legs naturally.
“Heal.”
Soo Hyuk cast Heal once more.
A white glow covered Haccid’s body once again, and Haccid made a relaxed expression. After the light disappeared, Haccid stood up and moved around to check his body.
“I think I’d be able to move around by myself now.”
‘The effects of Heal seem to be better than I thought.’
In the users’ perspective, Heal only recovers health, but it has a much more significant effect on NPCs.
“Let’s go.”
Soo Hyuk brought Haccid out of the prison chamber and went back to the first floor.
Soo Hyuk checked around the mansion before he left, and once he left the main door, a notification popped up.
[Quest ‘Kidnapped Haccid’ has been completed.]
‘I wonder what the rewards will be.’
The rewards for this quest were question marks.
‘Since it doesn’t seem to be automatically given, I probably need to receive it from someone.’
That was the only notification, so it was not a quest that was rewarded automatically. That means Soo Hyuk had to receive the reward directly from Haccid.
Soo Hyuk turned around to check Haccid. Although he was walking fine, he seemed to be struggling a bit.
Looking at Haccid’s condition, Soo Hyuk did not expect to receive the reward right now, and he felt perplexed to bring up the topic.
“Excuse me, Soo Hyuk.”
“Yes?”
“May I ask where we are headed?”
Soo Hyuk replied Haccid’s question with a smile,
“To where Romian is.”
***
Ross, who warped back to Parville Merchants’ Corps, stood still after arrival. He just stood there looking ahead.
‘This is impossible.’
The Red Wolves were assaulted, and a magician named Garrett was involved, but Ross didn’t expect Garrett to have done that all by himself. A squad of red wolves couldn’t be beaten by one magician. That’s why he led Garrett to the prison; to capture him.
But Garret turned out to be much stronger than he anticipated. His casting speed and magical power were on a completely different level than the magicians he knew.
“Garrett…”
Ross mumbled Garrett’s name, and once he regained his composure, he walked out of the magic circle.
Ross headed straight towards Raiden’s room. Raiden was the head of the family leading Parville Merchants’ Corps and also the boss of the corps.
“Commander, is that you?”
On his way to Raiden’s room, Ross met a man with a giant figure.
“Vice Commander.”
Ross was talking to the vice commander of the red wolves, Kerom.
Kerom checked his surroundings to see whether anyone was present, and then asked,
“Have you already finished what you left to do?”
Kerom also didn’t know what Ross left to do exactly, but he knew it wasn’t for training.
Ross didn’t reply to Kerom’s question, What could he say in this situation? Instead, he let out a wry smile.
“…?”
Kerom made a perplexed expression after seeing Ross’ smile.
“Gather the members in the corps for me… All of them.”
“Excuse me? Everyone?”
Ross nodded his head.
“I have something important to say.”
Although he had others to tell what happened, he had to tell the remaining red wolves first.
“I understand.”
Ross passed Kerom and continued his way to Raiden’s room.
After a few steps, Ross arrived in front of Raiden’s room and stopped.
“Master!”
In front of the door stood the chief butler, Casillas. Seeing him there, Ross knew Raiden was inside the room.
“Did you finish your training already?” asked Casillas.
“I’ve come to see my older brother…”
Ross couldn’t reply to Casillas’ question. Training wasn’t their main goal. Even if it wasn’t, if he had achieved his original goal, he would have answered right away, but he failed utterly.
