If Zynx attacked, then his camouflage would wear off. So, rather than using absolute poison shot, he lunged behind the bronze earthworm and bite at its back without releasing poison.

Even though Zynx didn't use poison, bronze earthworm could feel pain from the bite. It generates large hissing and started squirming on the ground to get rid of Zynx.

But would Zynx let it go? Of course not.

Zynx maintained his biting.

Others bronze earthworms were not too distant from them, so another 2 bronze earthworms also sensed something and glanced toward them when they witnessed their brother receiving an attack.

They slithered toward them with excitement and anger on their face.

Zynx saw them noticing him, so he released poison inside the bronze earthworm and slithered backward at the area of the poison ward with half of his genuine speed.

Another 2 bronze earthworms saw that their prey was escaping away, so they raised their speed and reached toward the poisoned bronze earthworm.

They saw bronze earthworm not reacting and assumed it might have been killed by that little thing, they became wary.

They wanted to make sure if it was really dead, so one of them slithered toward it and shook it and noticed slight twitching, 'Ahh, so it is just unconscious.'

They then let down their guard as they deemed a little creature like Zynx was just prey for them, nothing more.

Who would tell them that twitching was not because of unconscious movement but due to the poison influencing, each part of its internal organ.

When Zynx reached inside the attack range of poison ward, he halted and gazed at bronze earthworm and began hissing at them.

They thought since it could not outrun them, it might have determined to go all out, so they became more confident.

But after they got inside the range of poison ward they became startled.

One of them got engulfed by poison ward and another one was shot by absolute poison shot, altering the shape of poison into a spear. When spear hit the head of the bronze earthworm, Zynx followed up with another one, finally eliminating it.

Now, there was only Zynx, poison ward and poisoned bronze earthworm inside swamp.

He slithered neared the poison earthworm and used paralysis poison on it after paralysis took effect, he expelled poison from its body as he didn't want to kill it.

….

Zynx understood overconfidence was poison and was the main culprit for destroying one's self, so he should not underestimate adult one just because he was able to get little victory over young one.

Zynx didn't consider himself as a hero who would challenge without a chance of victory and ultimately attaining victory due to a fluke, coincidence, luck or whatever.

If he needed to represent himself, then it should be the devil, who uses scheming, blackmailing, calculation and anything that was available to gain victory and if still, he could not achieve a victory then he would retreat and come back later.

If there is a shortcut to gain victory then he will directly take it. So, Zynx decided to keep this paralyzed earthworms alive to use as bait for adult one.

Zynx didn't know when adult bronze earthworm would return, so he commanded poison ward to swallow 2 of those bronze earthworms instead of swallowing himself.
