Chapter 248 - New King (Part-1) (1/2)
”You shouldn't have talked to your brother like that…” Liu Juan finally commented on his behavior.
It wasn't the first time that Liu Juan saw Mo Jiang's rude behavior towards Mo Jinnan and she really felt pity for Mo Jinnan; although she was still wondering why the housekeeper felt pity for Mo Jiang instead.
Besides, Mo Jiang indirectly commented how Liu Ruolan had been rude towards Liu Juan but Liu Juan never bothered with his comments because she knew it was all her fault. If she hadn't run back to Liu Ruolan, then they wouldn't have met Mr. Jin and Liu Ruolan would have suffered Mr. Jin's torture.
Howbeit, what was left behind were the words 'Would have' and the guilt which Liu Juan wouldn't be over with.
Nevertheless, Mo Jiang didn't seem to be much different from Liu Ruolan.
Liu Juan was looking at Mo Jiang with anticipation that perhaps, he regretted his action towards his younger brother but again her expectation was nowhere near to reality again. ”I don't want to lose my brother like my mother.”
Liu Juan's fingers halted and a dull pain arose in her heart. She knew that the Underworld was a place where people lose their lives every day, even their families were affected. It seemed that Mo Jiang was no different.
”I was 10 and Jinnan was 6 when she died to save my father.” An ironic smile appeared on his face as the person for whom his mother made the sacrifice of her life didn't value her even after her death.
His fingers also stopped playing music and the silence had engulfed the space around them.
Liu Juan silently listened to his words as she didn't have anything to say to console him.
”My mother was a submissive wife. She never questioned my father and my father never valued her. He did the things which he found suitable which led to his greed being increased till the point that his life was at risk. At that time, my mother…” Mo Jiang didn't continue but only sighed deeply.
If he could go back to his past, he would have stopped his mother from sacrificing herself. She was worthy of more than just a pitiful sacrifice.
”Why are you with your father then?” Liu Juan quietly asked. If Mo Jiang's father wasn't a good man, he shouldn't have stayed with his father, then he wouldn't have to live in this dangerous world of the Underworld.
”Not everyone is lucky to run away.” Mo Jiang did have a thought to run away with Mo Jinnan but Mo Jun got to know about Mo Jiang's plan and then he sent away Mo Jinnan for studies and started to involve Mo Jiang in the Underworld.
Mo Jiang was just 10 at that time. Neither did he possess understanding nor power, thus he found himself stuck into Mo Jun's trap.
Once Mo Jinnan came back after completing his studies, Mo Jun also tried to involve Mo Jinnan in the Underworld business. Lucky, this time, Mo Jiang was smart and also had power. Thus, he forced Mo Jun to make Mo Jinnan stay out of the Underworld business.
Hearing his words, Liu Juan nodded into an agreement. Who else could be more unlucky in an attempt to run away other than her?
”Master Mo...” Housekeeper cautiously called out to Mo Jiang when she surprisingly saw Liu Juan with her master Mo and that too them being so close to each other.
Liu Juan was startled and immediately moved away from Mo Jiang with a blush on her cheeks.
Mo Jiang closed his eyes and when he opened them, the pain had long disappeared and he was back to being indifferent.
”Some guests have arrived at the villa.” The housekeeper spoke when Mo Jiang looked at her.
Guests?
