33 Chapter 33 My Name Is Varen Parker (2/2)

Varen turned toward Danny who was still holding in his laughter.

Varen: ”Mr. Rand. I've heard a lot about you.”

Danny: ”Oh? All good things I hope?”

Varen: ”Some news make it sound terrible, but then there are some who dont. I would assume that helping out the citizens for free does not sit well with some of your board members?”

Danny: ”Ahahaha...yeah, some dont take it so well.”

Varen: ”I could see why. Most business men are all about making money and not helping those in need of it. I wish you to know that I for one find it admirable.”

Tony: ”Again who are you? You dont seem to be just some average kid from highschool.”

Varen was going to reply when he saw a familiar figure from the corner of his eye. He was dressed in black and was wearing an eyepatch.

Well if it isn't my old friend Nick Fury. I guess even S.H.I.E.L.D was curious as to who the mysterious president was.

Varen was going to introduce himself to Nick, but was stopped short by a hand on his shoulder. May grabbed his shoulder to let him know that it was time. Varen nodded as May walked away and Varen turned to the duo.

Varen: ”I'm sorry gentlemen, but I have to excuse myself as I have some things to do.”

Danny: ”It was nice meeting you.”

Varen: ”The pleasure was all mine Mr. Rand, Mr. Stark.”

Varen nodded toward Tony, who barely nodded back.

Varen made his way up to the podium and tapped the microphone a bit to get everyone's attention. Everyone in the ball room quieted down as they stared at the young man in curiosity.

Varen: ”Hello everyone, I hope that all of you are enjoying your afternoon here in this beautifully decorated ball room. I would like to thank you for taking time out of your day to come and support Orion and its mysterious president. I am sure the whole world is wondering as to who this person is, and today I am here to enlighten the whole world. Let me Introduce myself. My name is Varen Parker, and I am the president of Orion.”

A huge uproar occurred throughout the people witnessing the shocking announcement. The news reporters who were not really paying attention as to what the youth was saying, furiously started to write down everything the kid has said before. Luckily there was a reporter who recorded everything, since he never slacked off when it came to reporting the news for his Daily Bugle.

Varen looked around the room and saw the shocked faces of the crowd that included Stark, Rand, and Fury. Varen had a small smile of satisfaction in being able to trigger a reaction on the big shots faces.
