107 The Rising Knigh (1/2)

I slowly open my eyes as I see a bonfire in front of me.

I scratch my head and wake up.

”Damn...That was pretty bad...” I say to myself.

”That robot thing you fought, how strong was it?” A female dwarf with long ginger coloured hair and beard asks me.

”Who are you?” I ask the dwarf.

”I am the town's abandoned genius, Kio Ramrod, nice to meet you.” The dwarf seems to be cheerful and is putting front her hand. I shake hands with her.

”What made you save me?” I ask Kio. ”Well, I just thought you were an interesting guy that's all. After all, it's not every day I see a guy pop out from the rooftop and break into the general's office after all.” Kio says to me.

”Let me guess...You are working for the general too?” I ask Kio.

”Nope, I used to though back when I used to make weapon for him. Now he has a new weaponsmith so he doesn't need my support but I do my own stuff down in the basement. What can I say life hasn't been exciting lately.” Kio sighs with her last sentence.

She has quick tongue so it's tough to think that she might be lying about anything she says but it's still too early to judge her has an ally. It could be a trap.

”Why were you asking about the robots?” I ask Kio.

”Oh those robotic human things, yeah, those are my creation. I call them humanoids but that old bastard said that these are too dangerous and he was telling the truth those humanoids are damn dangerous. They have the capability to wreck a city singlehandedly.” Kio says to me. Old man? Who is she talking about?

”Enough of your questions, my turn, now answer how strong that humanoid was?” Kio asks me. ”He was pretty strong but it isn't something I can't handle.” I say. ”For you to say that you must be at least a captain or a chief level knight right?” Kio asks me. ”Nah, I am just a rookie knight.” I say to Kio. ”What a bore...” Kio seems unsatisfied by my answer.
