49 Tempura for dinner (1/2)
Chief Harvard and his wife who's already waiting for the dinner, grinning when seeing me and Silvie bring a new dish for dinner.
”Master Ikki, you make a new dish again for dinner? I can smell the fragrant aroma from that dish”
”Yes, chief, this is a famous dish from where I come from called tempura”
”Hoo, looks delicious. Let's get the dinner together, master Ikki, please take a seat”
We arranged the plates in the dining table along with the sliced boiled potato for carbohydrate source in our dinner. Without speak any words anymore, everyone takes their portion and start eating it. And like the night before, the plates already emptied within minutes and the content moved inside our belly.
”Phew, what a relish. Master Ikki cooking is always delicious. It's bring something to enjoy in the night”
”Haha, chief Harvard overpraise me. In my place, I'm just an apprentice cook. There are many people who can cook better than me”
”Hmmm, maybe true. But in here, only you who can cook like this master Ikki. I never thought vegetable can be cooked like that too”
I'm just smiling hearing chief Harvard praise. Well, I haven't seen the world outside this village and taste their food there, so I can't too proud of that.
”Ah right, what is master Ikki plan for tomorrow?”
”I will going to find ingredient again chief, there's not much left in my inventory”
”Oh, okay. Because tomorrow I will go to meet with other refugees camp, and persuade them to join our village. If there're some people who can work to open new settlement, I will bring them to that place near the beach”
”Alright chief, I hope that talk will go smoothly”
”If master Ikki going to the forest, please bring a weapon. Just in case you meet a beast there. Ask Silvie to get it for you”
”Sure chief, I'll remember that”
After the dinner over, we go to our room to rest. Well, in this era, sleeping early means less candle to use to bring light to the house.
I go to the room, take off my outer garment and wait for Silvie to sneak from her parent room and come to this room. About half an hour later, she shows up at the door's still.
”Ikki, you wait for me too long? If you already tired you can sleep first without waiting for me”
”Nope, waiting for you is something worth to do. Besides, I can think about what story I should tell you to accompany your sleep”
Silvie smile when hear what I'm saying. She enters the room and sits beside and kiss my cheek.
”Ikki is the best. You know what I want before sleep”
”So, what kind of story you want to listen tonight, Silvie?”
”Mmm, I want to know how kid grow up in Ikki's country”
”Alright, I tell you that, but I lay my back first”
