2 Mysterious cave (1/2)
After walking a while into the forest, I'm trying to find a place which has dead tree or tree stomp because, in that place, wild mushrooms can find easily. During my searching, I'm collecting some wild berries that I found into a plastic bag that I already prepared from homes.
”This wild berries are fresh and taste good, I can make some jams from that. It would good when eaten with bread. Or maybe I can make it into fruit salads, moms like it very much”
I'm already planning what I will do when I return home with that wild berries. After walking a little further, I saw a dead tree in afar.
”Found you!” I'm approaching the dead tree and scrutinize its surrounding.
”Shiitake mushroom!” I'm full of joy when I saw a pack of shiitake mushroom grows near tree roots. Without wasting time I'm collecting that mushroom into another plastic bag.
”With this mushroom, I can make delicious soup and some crispy fried mushroom at home. Father will like this very much. I'm lucky nobody goes to the mountain before me” with a large grin, I'm imagining what kind of dishes I will make at home later.
I'm continuing to find another place which grows mushroom. Not for long, I found another place that grows Matsutake mushroom. That mushroom goes to my bag without long waiting. I also put some traps near berry bush, I'm hoping when he returns tomorrow, I can catch some wild hares or pheasant.
After laying some traps, I go toward the upper side of the mountain. In here vegetation changed significantly. Most trees that grow here are pine tree with some hazel and cedars.
”Pine trees, hazel trees, cedars trees …. I hope I can find something delicious here” I mumbling while my eyes scrutinize the area around him, especially the hazel tree. I'm hoping can find some hazelnuts there. After walking around for half an hour, my eyes stare at a single hazel tree that stands tall alone. There are no other plants that live around that hazel tree, giving the image of burned ground.
”No way! That can't be …..” I almost don't believe with what I saw. I immediately approaching the hazel tree and checking around its roots.
”It's really there!” I hurriedly digging around the hazel tree's root and pick up something from there.
”Truffle!!! I can't believe I will find it here. I already go to this mountain many times but never find this one. This is really my lucky day!”
I put the truffle he just found in the separate plastic bag and put it in his backpack. This truffle is an expensive item in the culinary world although truffle is been cultivating now, the one that grows in the wild still give the superior taste.
