49 Some Things Donst Change (1/2)
”How you feeling little lass?” Jonathan asked.
The little kitten yawned as she nodded her head.
It was early in the morning and all around the kitten, she could see everyone in the midst of work, preparing to set off. The Thunder Mountain Hunt had officially ended and everyone was prepared to head off in their separate ways.
Just moments ago, the Sky Magician's Mist Step and Hidden Blade had congregated everyone together and announced their departure. Their contract to guide the Thunder Mountain Hunt was complete and they had no reason to stay behind.
Now, while everyone was preparing to set off, including the Wilderwolf party, the little kitten and Jonathan had decided to traverse the surrounding terrain a little while the servant's and soldier's clean up the camp site with Uncle Kil leading them.
While they were taking one last good look at Thunder Mountain and its five peaks, they heard the call of one of the servant's announcing that everything was prepared and Uncle Kil had ordered for them to join up with them.
Walking back to the camp, which had been fully cleaned up with every item now residing in Uncle Kil's Magic Pocket, Uncle Kil was quick to announce their next plan of action. ”We will be heading off to Skyview City.”
”Skyview City?” Jonathan repeated before nodding in understanding. ”That's the biggest city in the North region, there should be plenty of things to do there.”
”Indeed, with the Thunder Mountain over, we are now stuck at what to do once again. For now, heading off to a bustling city like Skyview could prove to point us in our next direction.” Uncle Kil explained further.
With that decided, the Wilderwolf party quickly set off in the Western direction, heading off to an area where the Northern Mountain's lessened in quantity and where a small plain gave room for one of the biggest cities in Falcio, Skyview City.
But to travel there would take around two days of non-stop walking, with little breaks. To quicken their pace, once the party had left the mountainous lands, Uncle Kil guided them towards a smaller city called Hillfort. In Hillfort City, the party didn't stay long, only heading to a business at the edge of the city called Winding Road.
The Winding Road was a business that loaned out several Magical Beast's for travel purpose. From horse-like beasts that could gallop several miles without a break to giant birds that could soar the skies with a party of people on its back. They provided a multitude of Magical Beast's that were raised and trained for the purpose of travel. Some even also held some fighting capabilities, acting as bodyguards, though this would only be their secondary purpose and could not match other Magical Beast's who were trained as such exclusively.
But for the purposes of this visit, Uncle Kil chose not to loan anything too complicated or dear, considering that they would only be using them for a day at most. Instead, he chose a Magical Beast that was common to the region and rather cheap, all things considered.
'Wow, these things are huge!' The little kitten could't prevent her small mouth from gaping when she saw the two Magical Beast's Uncle Kil had rented. 'T-these are dogs?!'
Indeed, the two Magical Beast's in front of them looked identical to dogs, just magnified in size by several times. They stood around 5 meters tall and were rather obtuse with an abundant of long, white fur. Their faces were rather squashed in, looking rather comical compared to their large bodies and their tails swirled, rather like a pigs. The strangest feature of these beasts were their small, stubby legs that looked as if they shouldn't hold up their large bodies for but seconds. Yet, these legs were incredibly powerful and allowed these Magical Beast's to run at similar speeds to a horse's.
