32 The Quest At The Golden City (1/2)

A quest awaits Naota at the Golden City as he makes his way there with Tia.

”I have a question Tia, why are you coming with me?” Naota asks Tia. ”That's because I am a guild member like you.” Tia says to Naota pouting away from him. ”I see I didn't terminate my guild contract, that's the reason.” Naota says as he holds his guild card with 0 experience points on it.” Naota sighs.

(I am still a noob adventurer)

Naota and Tia reach the Golden city. The city shines bright in the sunlight. ”I can see why it's called the Golden City now...” Tia says as she looks at the city which shines. Naota nods. ”It's beautiful, very beautiful.” Naota says.

(It's something right out of a comic book)

”Welcome to the city of gold where everything shines of gold and everyone here is wealthy with no problems of jobs and no problems of health. This-” A robot speaks in front of Naota.

(Almost seems too true to be true)

”What's the reason we came here anyways?” Naota asks Tia. ”The city lord is the one who invited us.” Tia replies. She points towards the tall building in the middle. ”That's where the city lord lies.” Tia says.

Naota and Tia make their way through the city. Everyone in the city looked like they were enjoying their life. It seemed like a very fun place to live. Even the children were treated like wealthy kings and queens. Every single person had their own place to live at. Literally, everyone were living a golden life.

(It really seems like a dream come true)

Naota and Tia reach the city lord's castle.

”Please let the city lord know that the mercenaries he had hired from the guild are here.” Tia says to one of the guards. ”Stay here.” The guard says to us. One of the guards goes inside the castle and comes back. ”You can go in.” The guard says to me.

We begin to make our way inside the castle. The first room we enter was the court of the city lord but it wasn't just us. There were more mercenaries from different guilds. I see a familiar face. She turns towards me and Tia. ”Oh! Naota and Tia, it's good to see you two here.” She smiles. ”Hey Livonia...” I say. ”Oh yeah, you must have met her because she was taking care of you.” Tia says to me. ”Well, still let me introduce her to you. This is Livonia Jackolin, my childhood friend and the king's daughter.”

”You say your childhood friend and king's daughter huh? Interesting.” Naota says as he looks towards Livonia. ”My name is Takaki Naota, you might already know about it.” Naota says to Livonia. ”Of course, we know each other.” Livonia says with a smile.

”All guild members, may I have your attention here.” The city lord arrives. He is bald, fat, wears gold chains all over his body and has a tooth made of gold.

(What the fuck is he? A rapper or some shit?)

”All the guild members, I have an urgent request to make.” The city lord says. ”I want you all to work hard to bring back my daughter.” The city lord makes his request. ”Now, if you have any questions you are free to ask me.” The city lord says.
