84 Day 83: The Scum Is Dangerous (1/2)

Days passed by and Xia Di still isn't back. Feng Mo started to worry about the beast, but Wu Bai comforted him, telling him that Chen Sheng doesn't seem worried, so he shouldn't be worried about the beast, too.

Chen Sheng is the beast's contracted master, so if something happened to the beast, he must've felt it, too.

But, since there's none...

Feng Mo sighed, relieved, and he finally smiled. ”I just hope Xia Di's fine.” he said.

It's their second day in BaiLong but they're still wandering around the forest. Fortunately, they found a river.

Since one direction where the river is running towards is the sea, the other direction where the river is coming from is leading towards the mountain. If lucky, the river could be flowing in a residential area.

And now, they're going to the direction where the river is coming from.

”Xia Di will be fine. He's an intelligent beast.” Wu Bai told Feng Mo.

Feng Mo just nodded, his eyes still covered with worry.

”Hey.” ZuZhe called to Fei Yin. Seeing Fei Yin separated from Chen Sheng, he walked beside the other. ”When did you transmigrate?” he asked.

”How about you?” Fei Yin asked back.

ZuZhe looked at Fei Yin, then sighed. Fei Yin glanced at ZuZhe, then sighed. Since the two of them are transmigrators, that doesn't necessarily mean they trust each other. Instead, they should be wary of each other more.

Now that they're in a world that may not be so dangerous, but not really safe, too...

”15 years ago.” They both said, then turned to each other, surprised.

”... what conspiracy is this?” ZuZhe muttered, then humorlessly laughed.

”... you tell me.” Fei Yin told him, his face serious.

ZuZhe's eyebrows knit and he looked at Fei Yin. ”I don't follow the other transmigration novels. I'm not the one who brought you here.” He told him. ”In fact, as you can see, I am brought here, too.” He added.

”I know.” Fei Yin said. ”It was the system who pulled me here. But – ” he said and looked at ZuZhe. ” –I want to stay here.” He told him.

ZuZhe's eyes went wide. ”Really?” he said, surprised.

Fei Yin didn't answer and looked at Chen Sheng. ZuZhe looked at Chen Sheng, too, then understood what Fei Yin meant.

In fact, he's the same as Fei Yin. He fell in love with a character here, too.

”I am a reader.” Fei Yin said when he saw ZuZhe fell silent. He knewZuZhe fell in love, too. He continued. ”But, this isn't the book (world) I first transmigrated. It was other.” He said and told ZuZhe the books he's been in. ”And in those books, I've met Sheng.” He said and looked at Chen Sheng's back, remembering his meetings with Chen Sheng in those worlds.

”...” a sweat broke in ZuZhe's face. He smiled, awkward. That must be when I sent 'Hou Sheng's soul away to take revenge on Yu Sheng. He thought.

Fei Yin continued. ”In those worlds, we became lovers. We became familiar with each other's soul, we immediately recognize each other as we meet again in another world.” He said, then smiled.

ZuZhe smiled, glad he made a right decision to send Chen Sheng's soul even though it was a pure coincidence –

His feet suddenly stopped, his smile froze.

”Zhe?” Yu Sheng called when he saw his lover stopped.

Fei Yin turned when he saw ZuZhe. ”What's wrong?” he asked.

Wu Bai and Feng Mo also stopped, looking at ZuZhe.

Shock can be written in ZuZhe's face as soon as the word crossed his mind. 'coincidence'? he thought, wide-eyed, as he remembered the events that happened these past 15 years.

The time he woke up, he met Yu Sheng whose memories returned after his memories been locked. Yu Sheng, having his memories back, his power rose and this made the Upright Sect suspect him going astray. This leads to having his (YS) soul 'split'.

But actually his soul just separated from 'Hou Sheng', actually freeing Chen Sheng's soul that was stuck with his soul.

ZuZhe then sent Chen Sheng's soul out of their world, making Chen Sheng travel to different worlds (but ZZ isn't aware of this). This gave Chen Sheng awareness about other worlds 'existing'.

Chen Sheng then came back to their world and occupied Chen Shen's body. He then met Fei Yin, the protagonist of the story, who entered the same sect (Newfound Sect) as him, thinking he's Chen Shen who ran away from the Chen family.

This started Mu Xie to brew his plan to conquer the power of 'Hou Sheng'. And, 8 years after, when Mu Jie's qi deviated, he took the chance to occupy Mu Jie's body to conquer Chen Sheng.

When the malevolent energy went to Chen Sheng to gobble him whole, Chen Sheng retaliated and subconsciously used his power, embedding it to the talismans he used as a weapon.

This point in time, Xia Di appeared and save Chen Sheng. He then used the chance to make contract with Chen Sheng.

Mu Xie, failed to take Chen Sheng's power, brewed another plan. Using Li Shan, they stalked Chen Sheng for years and finally, they found him in Newfound Sect.

Right then, they attacked the sect, hoping they could kidnap Chen Sheng. But, they failed.

This led to Chen Sheng being taken away by the Upright Sect to 'protect' him, but actually they just wanted to find Yu Sheng who disappeared for 15 years.

During his (CS) stay in the Upright Sect, he 'accidentally' recovered his memories, making him recall 'his' (Hou Sheng) life as the prince of BaiLong whose soul has been stuck with Yu Sheng the whole time.

Chen Sheng, having back 'his' (Hou Sheng) memories, led the group to go to the YuLing Village to make Yu Sheng appear. This exposed the traitors, but more importantly, this concluded that Chen Sheng could never 'go back' to Yu Sheng's soul since he gained 'awareness' after all these years.

But, the smart ones knew better. Chen Sheng's soul is whole to begin with, meaning that he's never been a part of Yu Sheng's soul. They realized Chen Sheng has finally been aware that he's Hou Sheng.

After one problem was uncovered and solved, another existing problem was needed to be solved.

It was the problem of the Newfound Land and Newfound Sect that was attacked. This, surprisingly, was found out to be deeply tied to the Demonic Sect. This is the plan Mu Xie has been brewing for the past years, carefully looking for Chen Sheng and trying to catch him.

All forces combined and fought against Mu Xie, the real perpetrator and not Mu Jie, to protect Chen Sheng. But, turned out it was the other way around.

Chen Sheng protected them all, finally revealing that he got back his memories and he's aware of who he is.

He's not Hou Sheng – that's what is sure right now.

Then... who is he?ZuZhe thought. All these... acoincidence? He thought and looked at Chen Sheng, ignoring the others looking at him, puzzled.

Is this really a coincidence? Or... he thought and saw Chen Sheng stopped. His eyes went wide as he held his breath when Chen Sheng slowly turned to him.

He felt his heart stopped beating when Chen Sheng smiled, not amused or whatsoever. A chill ran down his spine.

Everything's been in favor, as well as revolved, in Chen Sheng. Because... he's the root of this all. He remembered what Chen Sheng told him last time.

”... I'm not the protagonist.”

If he really is not, then... this is a pretty well – made plan.

HuiLong Continent – Upright Sect.

Heavy, dark clouds covered the sky of the Upright Land as the thunder roared loudly, making the earth felt like it's shaking.

The residents immediately ran back to their home as the heavy rainfall finally poured down.

The face of the gentlemen who just arrived not long ago is as dark as the clouds above the sky. They immediately flew from three directions (South, East and West) of the continent and went north after they heard the sect leader of the Upright Sect, Fei Huang, has something very important to tell them.

”You're saying...” Wu Fan, the Promising Sect's leader, said. ”... you wanted to get married?!” he asked, both shocked and mad, as he glared at Fei Huang who's leisurely sitting on his throne.

Thunder roared outside and a lightning strike the roof of the Mist Peak Palace where they all are now.

Dark lines covered each one of their already dark face.
