62 Day 61: The Scum Is Obstinate (2/2)

They all looked at him, forgotten that he is Li Shan's nephew. Xie Lan and Fang Wen who are already informed by Fei Lin and Xi Ling beforehand, were silent.

”Tian – er...” Fang Wen called.

Ming Ye and Luo Shi were just silent, watching how their junior brothers Xie and Fang resolve this matter.

It was Xie Lan who spoke. ”Your uncle is collaborating with Mu Jie.” He said, then looked at Li Tian. ”He's a spy of Mu Jie, and is helping Mu Jie to catch Sheng – er.” He said and glanced at Chen Sheng who's silently standing on the side, together with Fei Yin, Chen Han, Sun Yi and Wu Yuan.

The other elders' face was covered with dark lines. He has said it all. They all thought as they looked at Xie Lan, whose face is blank.

”My uncle is?” Li Tian said, surprised.

They all looked at him, surprised. He's... not mad? they thought.

It was Ming Ye, who can't hold back anymore, spoke. ”Young Li.” He called Li Tian. ”You're... not mad your uncle is a traitor of the Upright Sect?” he asked, surprised by Li Tian's bland reaction.

Li Tian turned to him, then respectfully bowed. ”I'm not.” He answered. ”After all... I just recently met him.” he said and grimaced.

More dark lines covered the elders' face. Right. They thought. Youths of today are terrifying. They thought, referring to how Li Tian could react like it's not a big deal Li Shan, his uncle, is a traitor just because the two of them just recently met.

Li Tian and Chen Sheng poured tea on the cups, then served it to the elders. After that, they stood on the side, waiting.

Fei Huang cleared his throat. ”Li Shan is collaborating with Mu Jie.” He started. ”I don't know how they knew each other, and why is Li Shan doing this.” he said. ”After all, I don't know much about him. I just know he joined the sect (Upright) a year after Yu Sheng wreak havoc to our sect.” he said and glanced at Fei Lin and Xi Ling, then to Chen Sheng. He took a deep breath before he continued. ”Some elders died because of that, got caught up when Yu Sheng's soul split. To fill in the spaces the elders left, Xin recruited elders. That's when Li Shan appeared.” He said and sipped his tea.

Silence fell.

”How did Sect Leader Fei knew about this?” Ming Ye asked, referring to Li Shan being a traitor.

Fei Huang didn't answer and just continued drinking his tea. The others saw Fei Lin and Fei Yin looking at the silent man standing behind Fei Huang, and so they had an answer. It was the mysterious man who knew of Li Shan.

As to how, only the mysterious man know.

Xie Lan broke the silence. ”Where is he now?” he asked.

Fei Huang put down his cup. ”When you left, I pressed this matter to him. Who knew he'd confess so easily?” he asked and smiled. ”We fought, but he immediately ran away. And so I followed him – ” he said, then paused. His face serious. ”I thought he'd gone straight here. But, when he's about to enter the Newfound Land, he detoured. I'm worried that he'd just fool me and so I've gone straight here. Who knew he'd really flee?” he asked and sipped his tea again.

A deafening silence fell. But, it's not because of the tension. It's because of the thought that stuck on their mind after listening to Fei Huang.

The aloof and always frowning sect leader of the top sect, worries for a small and new sect, Newfound Sect? they thought, surprised.

Fei Huang noticed their reaction and he frowned. He gulped down his tea. But, everyone's thoughts have already confirmed by the mysterious man that's standing on Fei Huang's side.

He's smiling as he looked at Fei Huang.

”Uncle.” It was Fei Lin. He cleared his throat, but can't help smiling as he looks at his uncle. ”Now that we're already aware of what Mu Jie is planning, we can be prepared unlike last time.” He said.

Everybody nodded.

”Also, we now know that is was Chen Sheng he's targeting, and so we could focus more to protect him – ” he said, then stopped when he saw how Fei Yin, Chen Han, Li Tian and Sun Yi covered Chen Sheng from their side.

Fei Lin doesn't know to laugh or what but chose to smile. The sight is amusing, even the serious Wu Yuan grimaced and sighed because of Chen Sheng's fans' antics.

”Hmph.” Fei Huang said, indifferent. He's back to his usual cold attitude.

Fei Yin can't help but speak. ”Uncle.” He called. ”Don't frown too much. You'll get more lines on your face.” He told Fei Huang.

Fei Huang's hand froze and a vein popped on his forehead. He turned to Fei Yin, his face blank but he's obviously pissed. ”You bloody know well I'm just a few years older than Lin – er, you impudent brat!” he told Fei Yin, frowning.

”Ah?” everybody said as they looked at Fei Huang, wide – eyed.

”Sect Leader Fei is...?” Li Tian said, shocked.

Fei Huang frowned and looked away, crossing his arms across his chest. Fei Lin laughed. Xi Ling smiled.

”Actually – ” Fei Lin said, laughing. ” – uncle was born 10 years after our father was born, so...” he said and looked at Fei Huang.

Their eyes went wide when Fei Huang's face distorted and it revealed a youth – looking face, even younger than Fei Lin.

Everyone is aware that Immortal Stage cultivators can change their appearance, but all wanted to look younger. They never thought one would choose to look even older than their age!

”What?” Fei Huang, who has phoenix eyes, pointy nose and pursing lips, said as he frowned at them.

They all blinked and looked away, more shocked of this discovery for today than what Fei Huang told them.

Demonic Sect.

”I always knew I'm never liked by my father's subordinates...” Mu Xin muttered as they were surrounded by the demonic cultivators.

”Young Master Xin...” Wen Yan muttered, then sighed. ”Wish I could've had kissed my Lei Ling – ” he said and grimaced, remembered his 'lover'.

Chen Shen frowned. ”We're already surrounded.” He said, looking at the numerous demonic cultivators around them.

They're on the cliff, and below them is the wide open sea. Just a step back and their body will be impaled like a barbecue by the long, jagged rocks below them.

”What do we do?” he asked the two when they saw Mu Jie and his trusted aide, Li Shan, arrived.

Mu Jie is smiling at them maliciously.

”I've never had any amor on my father.” Mu Xin said, frowning as he looked at Mu Jie blankly.

Chen Shen grimaced. ”This isn't the time for family drama, either.” He told Mu Xin, frowning as he pointed his sword when one demonic cultivator tried to walk towards him.

”Don't you dare touch him!” Mu Xin said and glared at the demonic cultivator.

In just a second, he's standing in front of Chen Shen and blasted the demonic cultivator away. The sudden change made them press the three back to the cliff more.

”Say your prayers.” Mu Jie told his son and his friends.

Li Shan is just looking at them, his face blank. He already met Chen Shen and Wen Yan back at the YuLing and the two now knew he's a traitor.

Mu Xin looked at his father blankly. ”You know too well we're a family that never believes in gods – ” he told him as he grabbed Chen Shen's hand and pushed Wen Yan to the cliff, then jumped.

”Waaaah - !” Chen Shen screamed as the three of them fell. He hugged Mu Xin tight, closing his eyes.

Wen Yan sighed. ”You know well that help will come – ” he told Chen Shen as they heard the flapping of wings behind them.

Not a second later and the three of them fell on a warm, feathery back.

”Good job – ” Wen Yan told Xia Di and patted the beast's head.

Xia Di frowned, dodging Wen Yan's hand.

Wen Yan just laughed. ”Now I'm assured I can see my Lei Ling again – ” he said and laid down on Xia Di's back, relaxed.

Mu Xin just laughed, hugging the still shaken Chen Shen.

They turned when something white passed them and went towards the demonic cultivators who are still looking at them from the cliff, shocked by the sudden turn of events.

”Chen Sheng.” Li Shan said, his eyes narrowed as they looked at the Heaven's Touch that stopped above them.

A second later and words formed from malevolent energy inside the Heavens Touch can be seen.

”Catch me if you can.”, was what's written and as soon as the words vanished, the Heaven's Touch flew together with Xia Di who has three passengers on his back.

Li Shan gritted his teeth and Mu Jie's face is very ugly, looking at his escaped son and friends.

”So he's finally aware of who he is.” Mu Jie said, referring to Hou Sheng who initiated this challenge.

Li Shan lowered his head and gritted his teeth, balling his fists as he remembered how he fled from Fei Huang.

”Calm down.” Mu Jie told him when he saw malevolent energy coming out of Li Shan's body. ”You still got a chance to prove yourself. We're going to the Newfound Sect, like what we did 8 years ago.” He said and evilly grinned.

Li Shan nodded and respectfully bowed. ”Yes!” he said.

Mu Jie smiled and they all went back to their sect.

Little Dragon's G(r)ay Theater:

Gray Dragon: I really, really hit a wall at the beginning of the chap. I don't know how to start this chap –

Chen Sheng: that's why you started with a new problem at hand?

Everybody: Revive her! *runs to search for reviving magic items
