51 Day 50: The Scum Is Ironic (2/2)

Yu Sheng is really telling him the truth that time that Fei Lin loves him. He thought that Fei Lin's just teasing him, yet he forgot that teasing is the first step to make a person fell in love with you – catching his attention!

With the thought, Xi Ling's face went redder despite the cold night wind.

He fixed his face and became serious. ”Sheng – ge said his name is Hou Sheng.” He said, referring to Chen Sheng. ”He's the prince of BaiLong, yet the citizens incited a rebellion and so the royal family was forced out of their country. Sheng – ge's parents... they took the king and prince here, barely escaping.” He told Fei Lin.

Fei Lin nodded. ”And since Hou Sheng's body is weak, his soul was tied to Yu Sheng, who's a perfect vessel for Hou Sheng's soul since Hou Sheng's soul is strong, but Yu Sheng's soul is also strong, strong enough to be the vessel for Hou Sheng's soul.” He said.

Xi Ling nodded. ”Yes.” He said.

Silence fell.

”The one beyond that door back at the cave...” Fei Lin said.

Xi Ling didn't answer. They already have an idea. It's where Hou Sheng's body lies.

”The cave, back then... it looks like it's alive.” Fei Lin said, his face serious.

Xi Ling nodded. ”That must be because of the villagers' soul.” He said.

”En.” Fei Lin said. ”If what Yu Sheng said is true that Hou Sheng's body is overflowing with qi because it can't contain the qi that's why his body became weak... then the villagers' soul...” he said.

Xi Ling nodded. ”They got attracted to Hou Sheng's body, and their soul lingered then inside the cave.” He said.

”If that is... then why did Yu Sheng destroyed the cave?” Fei Lin asked.

Xi Ling didn't answer, already knew the answer.

”Li Shan.” Fei Lin said, his face serious. ”So Yu Sheng is afraid because Li Shan is there.” He said.

”Elder Li...” Xi Ling said. ”Just who is he?” he asked, remembered Li Shan joining the Upright Sect a year after Yu Sheng's incident.

Fei Lin didn't answer, obviously doesn't know the answer. After all, they were only told by Fei Huang's trusted secret aide, Old Lao, to be careful of Li Shan since Li Shan is suspicious.

”Hey.” he called after a while. ”Do you have an idea why Hou Sheng reverted to Chen Sheng again?” he asked.

Xi Ling's face went serious as he remembered Chen Sheng fainting at the cave after an eye contact with Yu Sheng. ”Sheng – ge didn't do anything.” he answered, confident.

Fei Lin nodded, also know of this, too. ”Then...” he said, then took a deep breath. ”There's only one answer.” He said and looked at Xi Ling the same time Xi Ling looked at him.

It was Hou Sheng who made a move, not Yu Sheng.

The still surface of the pond rippled as another petal fell from the cherry blossom tree beside the pond.

”... why do you say that?” Fei Yin asked softly as he stared at Chen Sheng's face.

Chen Sheng's smile faded and he frowned at Fei Yin. ”Brother Fei, why so serious suddenly?” he asked and raised his hands to Fei Yin as he scooted away from him. ”I'm just saying... it only crossed my mind.” He answered when Fei Yin just stared at him. ”I'm thinking there could be life other than this.” he said and looked at the pond when another petal fell on the water, creating a calm ripple. ”You know... rebirth? Reincarnation?” he asked. ”This is never an impossible to us living in cultivation world.” He explained.

Fei Yin sighed and looked away. ”Mn.” He just said, thinking of his rebirth many times, but to different worlds.

Yes. He transmigrated. He thought Chen Sheng transmigrated, too, since he met him to every world he was in. But, Chen Sheng mentioning about rebirth and reincarnations...

Fei Yin is now having doubts. Just what is Sheng? He thought, puzzled.

Fei Yin understood, then slowly turned to Chen Sheng the same time Chen Sheng looked at him, both asked the same time.

”Then... what are you?” he asked.

”Who are you?” Chen Sheng asked.

A deafening silence fell after that.

Morning.

”Ah Sheng!” Chen mother cried as they all hugged Chen Sheng again.

Even the maids who are standing silently on the side cried.

Chen Sheng grimaced and hugged them back. ”We'll be taking our leave.” He told them.

But, the Chens only burst into tears as they all flew one by one.

Every one of them is in high spirits as they fly their way towards the Newfound Land. Even Xia Di had a good sleep last night after the maids of the Chen household transferred him inside one of the rooms the Chens' guests last night – Chen Sheng's group, vacated their rooms to sleep in their lover's room.

All except one.

”Hm? Brother Fei, what's wrong?” Feng Mo asked when he saw the dark circles under Fei Yin's eyes.

They all turned to him.

Fei Yin yawned as an answer. ”Somebody didn't let me sleep last night.” he said and glared at Chen Sheng.

Their eyes went wide and they all turned to Chen Sheng.

”Oh?” Sun Yi said, grinning, as he waits for another drama to happen, which is the source of his amusement. Wu Yuan just sighed beside him.

”What's wrong, Brother Fei?” Chen Sheng, who's lying down on his now puzzled contracted beast's back, asked. ”You really didn't sleep last night after what I told you?” he asked, surprised.

Fei Yin frowned as everybody turned to him, now understood the two only talked last night and nothing happened.

Since they're all Chen Sheng's fans, of course Chen Sheng's words are more believable than Fei Yin, no matter if Chen Sheng would tell them he never seen Fei Yin last night even after hearing what Fei Yin said just now.

”What? What happened last night?” Chen Han asked. He and Li Tian just got 'married' last night.

”Brother Fei...?” Li Tian called, puzzled, as he looked at Fei Yin.

But Fei Yin just glared at Chen Sheng, which made everyone even more puzzled.

”Ah Sheng?” Chen Han called to his little brother.

Chen Sheng sighed and sat up on Xia Di's wide and soft back. ”Well, it's like this.” he said and narrated what he and Fei Yin talked last night.

Everybody nodded, now exactly knew what happened.

”So – ” Fei Lin said and looked at Chen Sheng and Fei Yin. ” – what did the two of you answered to each other?” he asked.

Seeing that Fei Yin won't answer no matter what, Chen Sheng sighed. ”He answered, ”I'm your lover whom you always left.”” he answered and looked at Fei Yin.

”And – ” this time, it's Xie Lan who asked. ” – what did you answer to him?” he looked at Fei Yin whose face distorted more.

”... ”I'm just joking. You're Brother Fei, of course.”, was what I told him.” Chen Sheng answered.

A deafening silence fell in the group of eleven gentlemen. They don't know whether to laugh or cry at Fei Yin's misfortune in love.

Little Dragon's G(r)ay Theater:

Gray Dragon: ... so you transmigrated –

Fei Yin: *cuts off. Don't pretend you didn't know –

Gray Dragon: ... what're you saying - ?
