18 Day 17: The Scum Is Reliable (2/2)
”Anything Ah Sheng says, I will believe.” Zhou Yin said and looked at him, smiling.
Chu Sheng smiled, shy, still acting like the original. ”But, uncle...” he said as they went inside the car. ”They left. What will you do now?” he asked, worried.
Zhou Yin didn't start the car. ”They could leave as much as they want. I don't care.” He answered. ”But... if Ah Sheng will leave me...” he said, then paused. ”... will you leave me, too?” he asked and turned to him.
Chu Sheng froze as he stares at those deep dark eyes that are staring at him back. His heart beat fast. ”... I won't.” he answered. ”I won't leave uncle.” He said.
Zhou Yin's eyes became darker. He smiled and fastened the seatbelt on Chu Sheng. ”If Ah Sheng will leave me... I can't live...” he whispered when he leaned on Chu Sheng's ear.
Chu Sheng's eyes went wide and his face went red when Zhou Yin's breath fanned the back of his ear, down to his neck. ”U – unc – ”
Before he could finish, Zhou Yin hugged him tight. Chu Sheng held his breath when Zhou Yin leaned his head on Chu Sheng's shoulder.
”Ah Sheng...” he called, making Chu Sheng's heart beat faster. ”I can't bear to lose you...” he said and hugged him tighter.
This warmth... Chu Sheng thought as he feels the warmth of Zhou Yin's body. ”Yin...” he called, remembered Duo Yin. This warmth is too familiar... he thought. Where and when did I feel it - ?
Zhou Yin hugged him tighter. ”I know it's you... it's been you... and will always be you – ” he said and cupped Chu Sheng's face. His thumb brushed his lips. ”In my previous life... in this life... and on the next life – ” he said and bumped his forehead on Chu Sheng's forehead. ”I love you... Sheng – ” he said and kissed Chu Sheng.
Chu Sheng's eyes went wide and he closed his eyes as he felt the familiar, soft lips. He kissed him back. He doesn't know how long it was when he heard an explosion afar.
He was about to break their kiss when Zhou Yin hugged him tighter and reclined his chair. He went on top of him, his lips never left Chu Sheng's lips.
Chu Sheng felt his body is on fire. He wrapped his arms around Zhou Yin's neck as Zhou Yin wrapped his arms around Chu Sheng's waist.
Chu Sheng already admitted in his past life (world) that he likes Duo Yin. There's no need to be shy and deny that he likes Zhou Yin – the man who has the same soul as Duo Yin. If he doesn't, then how did he remember Chu Sheng?
Chu Sheng can't remember how long they have been inside the car while Zhou Yin made love to him until he got tired and fell asleep.
When he opened his eyes, his face went blank. He squinted his eyes when the sun's rays hit his face. He looked around.
He's in the middle of the desert.
”What the hell...?” he muttered, his face dark. Straight from car then to the open loose (sand) land?
Sweat fell down his face and his throat went dry. He fanned himself with his loose and dirty clothes, then took out his water bottle from his waist bag.
”Tsk.” He clicked his tongue when there's only a drop of water inside. He looked around.
No signs of life aside from him.
His face went dark again. ”Should I kill myself so that I can be transported to other world?” he muttered, his voice grave. But, there's no guarantee that he'll really travel to the other world.
Instead, maybe he'd travel straight to afterlife.
With that thought, his face went darker. Before despair could eat his heart, he heard a loud cry behind him. But, it's not a cry of a man or a machine. Instead –
His face was covered with more black lines when he turned. As he expected, it was a large monstrous bird flying straight to him. His body froze as he cursed, 'shit'.
What to do? What to do? What to do? He thought, panicking, as the bird sweep down to him. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit! He cursed as he closed his eyes. So be it! There's still 50% chance I'd go to the other world –
Just as the beak of the monster bird a meter away from him, a bright light shot from the sky and hit the bird's back. He was flown away as the bird fell on the ground after the explosion.
”Aaaaah - !” he screamed as he flailed his limbs while he was mid – air.
”Officer Cang!” a voice called and he felt an arm wrapped around his waist and caught him. ”Ugh - !” the voice cried as they fell because of the impact.
”Office Su! Officer Cang!” another voice called.
”Officer Su!”
”Officer Cang!”
”We finally found him!”
Suddenly, many people appeared. He turned and saw an airship appeared on the desert. It was actually in stealth mode.
”Officer Cang!” one of them called and checked his pulse. Obviously, he's a medic. He sighed, relieved. ”He's fine.”
They all sighed, relieved. ”Officer Cang. We're glad you're safe. We have to report back.” One told him.
He looked at them. ”Err...” he said, then scratched his face. ”Who are you?” he asked, then tilted his head. He's glad and thankful of them because they saved him. But, he doesn't recognize them.
Their eyes went wide, shocked. ”Officer Cang, you...” they said.
”Looks like he's got an amnesia.” The one who caught him earlier said and sat up.
They all turned. ”Officer Su!” they called and looked at him beside him.
The one called 'Officer Su' turned to him. ”Let's take him back to the headquarters first.” He said and turned to them.
”Yes!” they answered, then saluted.
”Let's go.” Officer Su said and grabbed his hand, then pulled him up.
”Eh?” he said.
But this officer didn't wait for him and pulled him inside the airship. They immediately left when the monstrous bird earlier showed signs of waking up, since it didn't die.
In this world (life), his name is Cang Sheng. He's an officer in the First Division. He was tasked to find survivors on the F Country where he was found earlier. But, they all suddenly lost contact of him.
No one knows what happened to him, even him, since he has an amnesia.
Well, isn't this convenient? Cang Sheng thought, sarcastic. I can tell them I got amnesiac because of the trauma I met and use this as an excuse to be incapable of work. He thought, evilly grinned.
But the grin disappeared when this Officer surnamed 'Su' somewhat knows what he's planning and hit him on the head earlier, saying, ”If you've got time to plan insidiously like that, why don't you use that plan to end those monsters, instead?” he told him and then walked out.
Cang Sheng frowned. He asked his fellow officers about that Officer Su and found out that the man actually has an amnesia.
When he was young, he was found by the military officers who are rounding up survivors from country to country. Then they brought him up until he's old enough. Then, he decided to become a military officer to repay their kindness.
”The protagonist type, eh?” Cang Sheng muttered.
”'protagonist'?” the officers asked, puzzled.
Cang Sheng grimaced. ”Nothing. Don't mind.” He told them and waved his hand. ”Anyway, why are you all so respectful of me?” he asked, puzzled. He already noticed that they're all overly respectful of him and too worried ever since they found him from the F Country.
”How can we not?” the officers said, frowning. ”You're the youngest here. Of course we should look after you.” They said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Cang Sheng stared at them blankly. This scene... he thought. Why is this so familiar? He sighed. ”Alright, alright!” he raised his hands. ”Anyway, where should I report my survival from the F Country?” he asked them.
”To the royal family, of course!” they said and patted his head. ”I think we should teach him from scratch – ” they said, then laughed.
Cang Sheng frowned. How would I know that there's a royal family? He thought, then pout.
When I woke up, the head of the host of this body is empty. Maybe I entered an idiot's body? Thinking this, dark lines appeared on Cang Sheng's face.
”Don't be disheartened, youngest.” They said, now calling him 'youngest'.
Cang Sheng frowned. They just laughed.
He sighed. Goodness I really didn't end my life then and there. He thought, then smiled.
”Reporting to His Majesty.” Cang Sheng said and knelt down before the king.
The officers with him followed.
The author (and Sheng) has something to say:
Sheng: ... how long will this drag on? *referring to the flashback arc
Gray Dragon: ... up till we reach the present.
Sheng: I travel through time. Nothing is 'present' to me.
Gray Dragon: ... we'll know when we get there.
Sheng: ...
