88 Against the Sword and the Wall (1/2)
”Aahhhg!”
Rainer was able to hear Kirios' cry of pain from afar, he couldn't help but think he deserved it.
”Try not to get into so many problems in your next life...” Rainer muttered as he walked through the dark woods without any guidance or direction.
After a few minutes of fleeing, Rainer arrived at a swamp covered with toxic ponds and miasma, of course, it could not compare to the zombie's toxicity level.
”This is probably the spot senior Yunli told me about.” Rainer thought as he looked around.
In the toxic ponds huge bubbles formed and burst after reaching a certain size, the withered trees and the thick miasma fog would make anyone sane think twice before entering this place.
”I can't go back, the safest way is across this toxic swamp...” Rainer thought as he entered such a lifeless environment.
Although his body was more resistant than normal humans, Rainer was surprised because miasma didn't inconvenience him, he was glad he didn't have to waste his spiritual energy to form a coat around his body and avoid any contact with it.
Noting that his body was not suffering from any anomalies, Rainer sighed happily, but could not help thinking how his resistance to poisons had increased in just a single day.
”...!”
Remembering something, Rainer searched his bag for a few minutes without much success, the corpse fungus had disappeared!
”This is the reason I could handle the poisoning so easily...” Rainer thought while regretting the fact of having wasted such a precious spiritual herb, if he had collected a dark vine and the core of a poisonous magical beast, its effects would have been even greater.
”I can't cry over spilled milk, the most important thing now is to survive!”

After Rainer's arrival in the toxic swamp, a pair of sharp, yellow eyes watched as the young man entered its territory without any concern from the surface of one of several ponds.
The owner of the eyes frowned as it plunged into the green waters, its long tail covered with thorns resembling vertebrae whipped the water's surface before disappearing into the bottom of the swamp.
