7 Yet Another Obstacle (1/2)

”Yao'er…” Shu Yidan asked her with a gentle voice.

”Don't call me with such a placating voice!” Her angry retort was filled with disdain, and she didn't stop walking.

”Yao'er, are you my Dao Companion or are you not?”

Hearing Shu Yidan's question, Feng Shiyao froze in place, not daring to speak and not daring to move. Shu Yidan took the opportunity to speak.

”We are Dao Companions, accompanying each other to seek the Dao together. This is an entirely different relationship from a couple bound by marriage of the mortal world. We seek the Dao together, we are supposed to be closer than anyone else, supposed to accompany each other through life and death! Feng Shiyao grit her teeth at that question. She had no suspicions towards the pill, yet she refused because taking the pill was a slight to her pride! ”I trust you! I trust you more than anyone else! But this pill…”

Feng Shiyao's background of a local sect made it impossible for her to gain such a pill. The strongest in her Yin-Yang Conception Gate was her Sect Master, a peak 1st Layer Nascent Soul cultivator! With this pill, the arduous requirement of comprehending a Dao Domain was removed, swallowing it would grant her Nascent Soul cultivation without other ill effects! ”…too precious? But we are Dao Companions after all! If it was something too precious, I would certainly hide it away from you and from everyone else! Since I am willing to give it to you, why do you not take it?” Guessing her thoughts, Shu Yidan's voice increased in coldness.

”Wait, why are you storing away that pill?” Shu Yidan's voice was surprised.

Feng Shiyao looked back to him and opened her mouth, but quickly closed her lips and turned back towards the door. As if she wouldn't trust her mouth to speak. Before turning away, he could see that the pupils of her eyes seemed to have disappeared, and there were only twin dark void holes within them…

Shu Yidan didn't know what was going on with Feng Shiyao. A Nascent Soul pill thrown between her breasts shouldn't have fired her up like this; he knew her enough to know she wouldn't act this way.

And how had she returned to her cold act? Even before that, how did she cool herself from the burning lust that had covered her body? Not even a Buddhist monk couldn't rise from temptation so quickly!
