50 Change of Plans (2/2)
After hearing Moddy's complaint, Shi Li remembered where he was and quieted down in an instant. He looked at Moddy with a sad expression and sincerely said, ”Sorry.”
Moddy sighed as it saw Shi Li's expression after seeing the information about the technique. ”Haaaa...it's fine-nya. I know how it feels to get a good technique-nya. Anyways, are you finished?”
Shi Li nodded as he placed the repaired technique into his storage so he could cultivate later. He then tidied his robe and urged Moddy to sit on his shoulder, which Moddy did. Afterwards, they went to the main gate of the library and opened it as they walked towards the Forest of Ruin to hunt.
”After we finish today's hunt, I'll practice the secret technique right away so we'll be able to hunt more on the following hunts,” Shi Li said to Moddy as a white screen popped up in front of Shi Li's face all of a sudden.
”Oh?” Shi Li stopped in his tracks and looked at the information given by the interface.

”Moddy...?” Shi Li slowly turned his head to face Moddy as he rotated his body 180 degrees to the direction of Shi Xingwan's room.
”What is it-nya?” Moddy tilted its head as it wasn't expecting to be called by Shi Li.
”We're going to...change our plans for today.” Shi Li activated [Overlimit] and exerted all of his strength as he dashed towards Shi Xingwan's room, forcing Moddy to hold tight onto Shi Li's shoulders once more.
”Not nyagain...”
...
Shi clan, a secluded room, yesterday.
”So continuing from where I left off, her bloodline is heaven-defying thanks to paying a certain price,” Shi Xingwan said.
”Patriarch, if you may excuse me, could you elaborate further on the certain price part?” Shi Zhenlong, the Second Elder asked as he knew the other elders were confused as well.
Shi Li nodded before coughing his throat. ”So this certain price is in short, the equivalent price she pays in order for her bloodline to do something. She could memorize and fully comprehend a technique thanks to the bloodline, but that's only if she pays the equivalent price to do so.”
”Okay, so she's able to become a heaven-defying cultivator thanks to it. Brother, how is this related to the enmity between our clans exactly?” Shi Xingtai asked as he felt that there was no correlation between the bloodline and the Huang clan.
”I don't know if they're related or not but I feel like there's the possibility of it happening,” Shi Xingwan shrugged his shoulders. ”In any case, the stronger the thing she exchanges, the higher the price she has to give. This means that she might kill people or steal treasures.”
Shi Lianghua heard the last statement and couldn't help but ask, ”Does that mean she killed members of the Huang clan?”
Shi Xingwan shook his head. ”My wife is extremely sweet, she won't stoop down that much just to kill people. What I fear the most is that she must have stolen an important treasure from the Huang clan.”
Shi Buyong shivered slightly as a possiblity arose in his mind. He coughed lightly to grab everyone's attention and said, ”If everyone's following Patriarch's train of thought, then that could mean that she stole the most important treasure a clan could have...”
”...a clan heirloom.”
...
Shi clan, Shi Xingwan's room, present day.
Shi Li knocked on the door to his father's room as it was a sign of respect. Not long after, a voice saying ”Come in” came from inside the room, which Shi Li knew for sure came from his father.
He then opened the door, closed it, and grab a nearby chair to sit on. It was a habit of his whenever he came to his father's room.
Shi Xingwan placed the papers he was reading on his office desk and looked at Shi Li with a smile. ”So what's the matter my child?”
Shi Li took a deep breath before responding, ”I came here to ask about the weapon.”
Shi Xingwan tensed up a bit as he smiled wryly towards Shi Li. ”I didn't expect that Senior Yan was actually right. You would come here today.”
”Huh?” Shi Li was slightly confused. ”Senior Yan told you about me coming here today?”
Shi Xingwan nodded as he lightly chuckled. ”Indeed. He told me you would come here today to ask about the weapon you won from our deal.”
Shi Xingwan then grabbed something from under his desk and brought it out for Shi Li to see.
It was a huge hammer. The shaft was pitch black with its material being folded metal of superior quality. The head of the hammer was a huge contrast to the shaft as it was a ghastly white. Its edges were pointing outwards, increasing its surface area. The texture of the head was quite rough as well as an ashy white powder could be felt on its surface.
”Shi Li... here's your weapon.”
