2 Chapter 1 - Fujimura Miyu (1/2)

A cool breeze hits her face, making her hair fly backward. Her black, thick, long hair goes everywhere and it takes her forever to get it in place. The breeze brightened her already red cheeks that grace her perfect pale skin. She walks down the path in a simple white kimono, but it doesn't lessen her beauty. She looks elegant, an example of grace, the definition of beautiful.

Fujimura Miyu is heading towards her room, which is across from the main house. It's small and a little old, but it feels like home to her. It has all her prized possessions, including photo of her mother, Fujimura Megumi, and her mother's old koto. It's a beautiful instrument, made with the finest wood that was handcrafted by her mother, using her wood gift. It has many painted flowers surrounding it, a small touch from herself. Miyu is excited, remembering the instrument. She has the small urge to play it right that second. But first, she actually has to get to her room.

Miyu enjoys the summer air, relaxing in the pleasant atmosphere, when someone interrupts.

”Miyu! You piece of trash come over here!”

She turns, her hair flipping over her shoulder. Her elder sister, but not the eldest, Fujimura Hanae is yelling at her.

”You need to finish my homework! If you don't, I'll use my air and water gifts against you!”

Miyu sighs, her sister is powerful but stupid. She cannot understand the simplest of math equations and throws all her work at Miyu. And, of course, Miyu cannot be a genius because it will ruin her whole image so she makes a few wrong answers, but way fewer wrong answers than what Hanae would've done. And, like always, whenever Hanae gets at least one question wrong she complains to Father Kenta. Father Kenta despises Miyu, and loves his two other daughters. Miyu is treated unfairly by everyone because of her lack of powers, but this isn't true. She is has all gifts, including the rare ones and ones that no one has discovered yet. She has two reasons why she's hiding, because her mother asked her to before she died and she wants freedom after her 21 birthday. Miyu will escape under everyone's noses, because no one will expect a shy girl like her to be running away.

Miyu nods to Hanae, accepting her order. Hanae grins an awful grin that messes up her decent looking face and spits at her. She leaves Miyu and flipped her short black hair before walking away. Hanae has eyes just like her mother, Fujimura Kokoro, who is Miyu's step mother. Kokoro was a concubine who gave birth to two healthy daughters for Kenta, and Megumi was another concubine who gave birth to Miyu. Kokoro fought to be the wife and gain power, and saw Megumi as a threat. Megumi didn't even want to be the wife of Kenta, but stilled died. Megumi was the most beautiful woman out of all three empires and could've easily became a concubine for the emperor, but she wanted to hide her powers that were similar to Miyu's but Miyu was even more powerful. Miyu took the place of most beautiful woman out of all three empires and even became more beautiful than her mother. The only problem was, that Miyu has 'no powers.' So no one wanted her, even as a concubine. And Miyu was fine with it, it went along with her plan.

Miyu never attended school, she was taught at home. Kenta didn't want his image to be ruined because of Miyu, so she is restricted from the outside world and is only let out in certain cases.

Miyu walks to her room and gives a huff as she sits down.

”Master, why so down? Is it your sisters again? Because I can kill then for you.”

A deep voice fills her chamber and she glanced over at the bundle of white fur in the corner. Two piercing blue eyes stare back at her, belonging to the ruler of all guardians, Arata, who choose Miyu as his master. Arata is in a shape of a white fox with ice blue eyes and long gold whiskers and gold tail.

Miyu gives out a melodious laugh, ”Dear Arata, you know that I cannot let you do that no matter how pleasing it sounds to me. I must keep a weak profile so I can leave and have my peace.”
