”I don't have. Stop worrying,I'll be alright in a while. ”
Jim went out of the room and Hailey went back to sleep again. When he was back,he was already with a steaming pot of vegetable soup.
”Hailey,wake up! ” He said as he gently touched her head.
She got startled and abruptly sat up.
” What is it! ” She asked,still being confused.
”Nothing.Just put something on your stomach. You had been sleeping for long hours already. ”
She looked at the bedside table. And she saw right away the steaming pot, a bowl and a set of cutleries.
”You should have not bothered.” She said,feeling uncomfortable with this treatment.
He replied with a smile and helped her with her plate.
”Sorry for the bad taste. I'm never good with cooking.” He smiled.
She laughed and then started to eat.
”It taste good. How can you say that you're not good? ”
”Really? ” He felt flattered. It was the very first time he cooked. Before Jia came into her life,he already had a cook. And eversince she was with him,she pampered him with her cooking prowess.
” I swear. ”
The truth was that it really tasted awful. But to appreciate his effort,she pretended and forced herself to consume it all!
”This would be tastier if next time you would add a little salt!”
Jim laughed and it was ever the first time she saw himlaughing genuinely!
” Hailey,I want togo overseas and study... ”
Hailey was dumbfounded. Jim had already mentioned about this but she did not expect that he would really take this seriously. Most of all, she couldn't seem to accept the fact that he would be separated from her for so long. Though what she was feeling right now was something she would only keep to herself now and forever.
”When? ” She asked without looking at him.
”When you're ready.”
Hailey cast him a stare. ”Me? ”
”Yes. When you're ready to go with me. ”
Taken by impulse,she sprang to her feet and hugged him. Jim,who was not anticipating this, stepped back in astonishment but then he quickly realized that...she was just overwhelmed with happiness.With a grateful smile in his face,he hugged her back.
Few months after,they climbed up into the yacht once again with big luggages in Jim's hands. Hailey, on the other hand,carried a toy boat with her and inside it were two small and big boxes. The small box contained twodiamond necklaces and the big one was for a pair of doves.
After they would be able to send these gifts to the couple,they would go directly to the airport...
While Jia and Anthon would start their new lives as husband and wife,they would also start a new journey in a foreign land.
She may not be able to tell what the future may hold for each of them, yet,there was one thing which made her feel secured.She would be with him.And that was enough.
