215 Marry Me (1/2)
Overwhelmed by such a blinding surprise,deafened by the ecstatic cheering of the crowd and drowned by the ripples of her own heart's slapping waves,she felt like a soft wax melting against the warmth of his presence.
For a moment,her mind went blank as his arms wrapped her making her feel the loud thumping of his own heartbeats.Then, all of a sudden,she didn't know how to react, as she herself was squealing deep inside for such a wonderful feeling of being surprised,of being kissed, of seeing him again!
In the next moment,realizing that she may be too transparent before him,she sanked in shame.She knew she was never good in hiding her emotion. She then wanted to hide,to disappear, to ran away,as she could no longer contain her feelings.
Anthon released her and he looked down lovingly into her eyes. ”I miss you so much,Jia! ” He said sincerely, sending her soul into the ninth cloud.
Remembering that they were in the middle of the crowd, she glanced up and quickly swept her eyes to all of them. She saw their sparkling eyes,their teasing looks,their crazy smiles... She heard them laugh and squeal...
Oh,dear!These were all making her go insane!
She then burrowed her sharp fingernails into his side and exclaimed bashfully.
”You're soooo bad! You make me so ashamed!” She said softly, enough for him to hear.
Anthon laughed and the crowd laughed with him. He was so amused at her awkwardness that made her act like a child.
”What is there to be ashamed
of? ”He said loudly,making her more conscious.
The organizer of the game suddenly butted in.
”Jia,you still have not served your punishment. We would not proceed to another game if we would not be given our justice. ” He said,giving Anthon a rolled,side glance.
”It's done! ” She protested.
”What's being done?The rule said that it should be you who will kiss the lucky winner of the lot. But it was Anthon who kissed you, so it's not valid! ”
”I won't ” She said as she hurriedly buried her face in his chest, intensifying the teasings of the crowd.
”Don't worry guys!She will serve her punishment when we'll be alone. ” He said as he chuckled, waving a hand at the organizer to make him stop. Or else,she would end up crying.
Then,one of the class raised her curiousity. ”Anthon,how long is this going between the two of you? You were both so discreet about it. ”
”There's nothing going on yet. ”He laughed. ” Unless anyone here would help me make her say 'yes'! ”
The crowd erupted into a commotion once again.
Soon, the last part of the event started. It was the formal dance party.The automated lightings then set in, throwing its multiple hues across the dance floor as it moved around and changed its colors according to the beat of the music.
As the sweet and romantic piece was played on,the men gently brought their ladies into the dance floor. It was the perfect moment to talk about the past and to bring back the fun they used to have. They mayall had led separate,happy lives but at this very moment,reminiscing the past just felttoo wonderful.
Anthon stood up and held Jia's hand,pulling her gently into the middle. Those hundreds of splendid white lights which slowly moved according to the rhythm set her mind into a perfect,romantic mood. She placed her hands into his chest as Anthon laid his hands at the small of her back. All throughout the whole length of the music,they did not talk butheld each other's eyes,communicating silently the language of their hearts.
Another sweet music followed and Jia could no longer hold the temptation of placing her head against his chest while Anthon hugged her closer. There were just things in this world meant to be left unspoken but could be better felt and expressed by touch.
The music went lonelier and the night deeper making them forgot that they were not alone on the dance floor.
”How long have you been here? ”Jia,finally broke their silence.
”Just long enough to prepare the place. ”
