193 If Only (1/2)
When everyone got busy with chatting and eating, Jia sat beside Jim and watched the running movie through a cable network inside their suite.
It was about a woman who worked overseas in order to provide their growing children's need. Life was difficult, aside from the fact that she had to be away from the kids. She sent all her income to his husband,hoping that when she would finally come home, the business that her husband pretended to have ventured with,wouldnow be more than enough to sustain them. Only to find in the end,that his husband left her children and eloped with his bestfriend, taking all her fortune away.
Jia held on to Jim's arm. ”Can you imagine that,dear?If I would be in her place...”
”What will you do? ” Jim asked,amused at how she got hooked with the movie.
”I will pretend to be unaffected. I will take my children with me. Then he would know how much he lost! ” Jia said seriously.
Anthon and the rest kept on glancing at them while listening to their conversation, as well.
Then,the setting changed into a place where the woman saw them somewhere, being intimate with each other. She saw her bestfriend and thought about her betrayal. She thought about her husband on their courtship period and his sweet promises.And while standing there,watching them getting more intimate with each other, poignant scenes of the past played on her mind... Until anger and pain gripped her that she fell into the ground, crying her heart out!
Jia's chest tightened as she got carried away emotionally,blending her own suppresed pain into the momentum... until she couldn't hold it anymore. Her thoughts ran through Anthon's announcement that they would be getting married soon. Her thoughts ran through that moment when they finally closed the bittersweet chapters of their love story.
She began sniffling as tears raced down her face one after another. But when the surge of emotion became too overwhelming as the female lead wailed loudly and bitterly, she hurriedly burried her face into Jim's chest and broke into a loud sob.
”Sweetheart,that is just a
movie.” Jim laughed while he rubbed her back to comfort her.
The more Jim comforted her,the more she got helpless,until Jim got carried on and cried with her.
Anthon suddenly stood up angrily and slammed the set off.
”My goodness,Jia! Why do you get fooled with those nonsense movies.”
”Anthooon,it's not yet finished!Turn it back on! ” Jia yelled, disappointed on having missed the next plot.
”You're such a silly woman! ” He grumbled,glaring at her.
”Turn it on! ” She said while gritting her teeth.
In the end,he turned it back on but he came over and twisted her earlobe.
Everyone laughed.
But Mr. Wayne couldn't be deceived.
A single word was written all over Anthon's face despite his glare and anger. And it was LOVE!

A nurse came in to administer Jim's intravenous medication. It was then that Jia remembered to check Jim' s bottle of Hailey's Pill. She stood up and counted the remaining tablets. It's already less than ten!
Anthon came forward with a worried look. He called up Aijohn right then.
”Raise it to one million per bottle! ”
Aijohn couldn't believe his ears.
”We've raised it to a half million already and multiplying it twice,would already be too high. ”
”Life is priceless,Dr. Aijohn,and I am more than willing to spend my whole fortune for it. ”
