During their breakfast the following morning,Mr. Wayne wondered why everyone was having the same food as he had. It was his request to have only a serving of oats in the morning,paired witha vegetable smoothie. But today, he noticed that there were additional vegetable dishes,instead of their usual breakfast menu which consisted mostly of fried meat and egg.
”What's happening? ” Mr. Wayne could no longer keep his astonishment to himself.
Jim smiled. ”Jia decided that we should also have the same diet as yours because as she said, it's better to start the preventive measures now than finding the cure later. And so that you will not feel tortured for having a separate untasty meal. ”
This decision just happened to make this matter easier for him as he would not make any more cover ups to push the diet.
Mr. Wayne laughed. ”Good, darling. It is so thoughtful of you. Now,I won't be alone anymore and this diet plan is now enjoyable. ”
Then,Jim changed the topic.
”By the way, dear,I think I should help Dr.Aijohn in clearing up the fire site or in monitoring the new
farms. ”
Jia frowned. ”Do you mean you would go to Palawan? ”
”Yes,in the research lab or wherever I could be of help. ”
”And that would need you to be away?We are only the host and not the producer. Remember that. They should hire more scientists to do it or we could hire our own. ” Jia disagreed.
”Sweetheart, I could go home once or twice a week. ” He said as he brushed her hair, racking his brain on how to convince her.
”A biiig NO.Don't make me go sleepless. ” Jia insisted. ” Jia was firm and was not kidding at all.
”Dad,help me. ” Jim turned to Mr. Wayne, laughing.
Mr. Wayne turned sour. ”Son, that is something I miss in my married life because I never listened to your mom.If only I listened and set my eyes on her,I would have the best days of my life. ”
Jim pinched her nose and gave up on insisting. ”Okay,okay. ”
Later in the office,Dr. Aijohn went out to talk to them.
”Uncle,Jim , if somebody would call you up about a purchase of Hailey's Pill, please call me right away. ”
Jim and Mr. Wayne raised their brows,wondering what he meant.
”I'm calling out the public to ask anyone of them who purchased the first set of Hailey's Pill, that I would buy itback from themat a price twenty times higher than how much they bought it from us. ”
”Why would you do that,Dr. Aijohn?”
Mr. Wayne felt disgusted, that was something so riduculous.
”Somebody came to me,uncle,he's already in the advanced stage of leukemia, and I want to help him. ”
”Why did he not enroll himself earlier? ” Mr. Wayne seemed upset at the irresponsibility and the passiveness of that person.
”He thought he was already in complete remission after his treatment. He just noticed lately that the malignancy has relapsed. It has been asymptomatic, thus,he is left
unaware. ”
Mr. Wayne was then horrified.
”Really. I hope we could be heard. ” Mr. Wayne finally understood.
”Give it one day, John,and I will raise it higher the next day. ” Jim offered.
To recall,when Hailey's Pill was first launched,they went intogreat mismanagement issues in product distribution,causing them to announce temporary closure due to product shortage. What happened then was their failure in controlling the product release and the overpowering of thosewho could afford to buy.There were also countless health and wellness centers who purchased it for business purposes. When they officially announced their product shortage, these centers released the product to the market at a compounded price.
”John, if our farm would be unharmed after this supertyphoon,how grave does that fire outbreak will affect the production? ” Mr.Wayne asked curiously.
” We would still be declaring a six - month closure. ”Dr. Aijohn answered sadly.
