101 Jia and Anthons Confrontation (1/2)
Jia could understand well Anthon's behavior. He was never stubborn and had always been giving. However,she could not risk ruining Jim's trust. She had wanted to drop this call but she just couldn't.
”Okay,what is it that you want to talk about?”
Anthon did not answer right away. After a minute, he got the courage.
”I am demanding for regular time to spend with my son. ”
”That only? Isn't Jim giving you much favor already? ” Jia responded.
Jia felt annoyed. He did not need to demand. He could always ask for it and they would surely not refuse.
” Spend time with him all you want before we would fly back to US.” Jia went on.
”That's exactly my point. During summer vacations and holidays, let him spend it with me.” Anthon stated his demands.
”Alright as long as you are still unmarried.”Jia agreed.
Then,she he heard him laughed bitterly. ”Jia,whoever said I will get married? ”
”Don't be ridiculous. Why not? Sooner or later,you will meet the woman you could be with all throughout your lifetime. ” She chided.
”Do you think it would be that easy to forget?I have waited foralmost sixteen years to be with you. But what did you do?You ran away and hide.And when you showed up, you're marrying someone else. Do you think it's fair? ” Anthon was now nagging.
”What happened to you?Do I owe you anything?In the first place,Anthon,just to remind you,there was never 'US'. We never had any relationship!” Jia also ranted back.
”What happened in that mountain resort was more than any proof of relationship you can ever think about. You can't deny it. You love me!” Anthon said.
He went on. ”There's Giselle as my proof and there's also Jay...”
True enough,these two friends had been the windows to her heart. They knew very well how she had been fantasizing him for many years.
”To love someone doesn't require a contract as proof of a relationship. We both knew that we love each other ever since in our high school days. And that is more than enough.”
Jia sighed in anger. He became too irrational. Everything he had ranted did not make sense at all. What happened to his power of reasoning?
”Anthon,love is not to be felt only like a charade. It needs to be spoken out! ”
She could no longer hold herself from telling him his gravest mistake.” All through the years since high school,you never told me about that damn,ill - feeling you claim to have. I would have not been left fantasizing on my own. Wishing that someday there would be 'us.
I would have fought for the right of my child, I would have not ran away.”
Anthon felt like being struck by a lightning. He had just been so slack because he fully believed she could wait. In fact, he and Jay had already arranged a set up for both of them to talk alone in Blue Whale Mountain Resort. However,it turned out differently.
”You're right. You did not know it. Jay and I were planning to set us up a date and it would have been on that day but you went away again.
So,let me now tell youabout it a hundred times. There is only you in my heart. I love you for so long already, Jia.”
Jia laughed disdainfully. ”What sense does your confession have now? Now,that I have learned to stand up from my hopelessness? Now,that I have already awaken up from my stupidity of waiting for you? You're even expecting me to have guessed it by myself and believed that I would be abiding with it? ” Jia felt like a fire had been lit up inside her. She had finally got the courage to confront him.
”Anthon, as I have said,forget me.And I will forget you. We have talked about it already,right?” She reminded him.
” I agree that we both had a mutual,unspoken love for each other but I had not been able to wait long enough to hear you say it. I can also get tired and humiliated in the long process of waiting for nothing.”
”I have already loved another man who understood my pain and loneliness. Another man who patiently waited until I'd get over you. Another man who love not only me but your own son as well. Another man who selflessly gives you the right to know and care for your son he himself has brought up! ”
