”As for the hospital,we're working on its expansion plans. Just recently,I was so surprised with a very fantastic offer. I must have a very good luck! ” His eyes lit up when he said this.
”Offer? ”Jim's eyes creased as he clarified.
”By the way,son,before we will touch on that topic,may I know if do you have any plans to shift on business? ” Mr. Wayne tried to fish in a shallow water.
”After this,dad. ”Jim was already considering about it the day he purchased a franchise of Gee's Cafe.
Mr. Wayne's face lit up. He could not believe his ears. Finally,this stubborn son of his set his eyes on their business! Aside from that,Jim would possibly be interested with the Ybañez family's offer.
”You make me so happy,son. I'm not getting any younger. It's about time for you to take over. ”
Jim nodded. He knew his dad was right. After this training for fellowship in cardiology , he would give more time on the business.
”Son,when are you going to tie a knot with Dr. Grace? I, instantly,liked her the moment I saw her earlier today. She's beautiful and her family is also in the business world like
us! ”
Jim stared at his dad. What was he talking about? Where did he get the idea of her and Dr. Grace?He was, totally,like a parrot. Talking without understanding!
”Dad,I'm getting married soon. I was about to tell you but I did not have the time yet.”
”Do you mean,it's not the Ybañez girl? ” Mr. Wayne asked in a frustrated tone.
”No, dad. I've been with her for six years already and we have a five year old son. It's time to give her my name. ”
”Is she from the business world, also? ” Mr.Wayne blurtedout mindlessly, not caring if this question was offensive or not.
”No,dad. She's the one you gave to me, six years ago.”
My Wayne racked his brain. He did not remember giving him any woman nor suggesting any woman for him. Seeing his confused look,Jim made it plain to him.
”Dad,she was the one you sent,through our cook,to care for me. Thank you so much for that,dad! ”
Mr. Wayne was greatly astounded. Thehouse helper whom he sent to take care of his needs would be her daughter - in - law? He,suddenly,felt goosebumps rising from his soles up to his temples!
”But,son,if not Dr. Grace, could you at least choose someone with a better family background? ”
Jim looked at the eyes of the man who brought him into this world. Pride and greed which rooted from his world of abundance and wealth had consumed him,burning his tiniest regard for his feeling. He knew from the very beginning that Jia was right in her presumptions. That she would not be easily accepted into his family.
”There are so many things that our business world cannot buy,dad,and that includes her.”
