”But---- Grandfather!!!!!!”
XuanRong's scream was very loud. Amidst to the noise, her voice was successfully transmitted to the ear of the leader of the assassins. The sword that he was holding suddenly shook. When he saw that his sword would pierce the chest of the old man in front of him, he forcefully redirected the angle away from it, piercing the old man's arm instead.
When the leader of the assassins saw the red patch of blood on the old man's arm, he knew that he was screwed. He did not know that the old man whom he was fighting was none other than the Blood General, if he had known, even if he had eaten a leopard's guts, he would never try and harm him.
The leader of the assassins could not help but cry silently. It was known in the entire Dark Palace and Moon Pavilion that their Lordship was obsessed with the maternal granddaughter of the Chen Family. Even their Chief, Yue Shin, was not spared after disrespecting Lady Xuan.
'Should I start lighting a candle for myself?'
The leader of the assassins cursed Xu Ji Mo endlessly. If Xu Ji Mo did not push General Chen forward, he would not 'accidentally' injure General Chen.
While the leader of the assassins hastily pulled the sword, XuanRong, who saw everything could not help but narrow her eyes.
She did not know if what happened was a mistake or not, but she exhaled in relief when she saw that the sword's direction changed. Her eyes stared at Xu Ji Mo who pushed Che Zi Tao, roasting him to death. She pulled her hand away from Eldest Chen Furen and was planning to run towards where her maternal grandfather was located when she saw another batch of assassins joining the fray.
XuanRong recognized them. It was An Wei and the rest.
XuanRong could not help but once again curse the proprietor who destroyed her plan. Her plan was in fact to sow discord towards Jing and Qian Zou. Regarding to Imperial Concubine Jin's matter, she only wanted to lend Xu Jing Xin a hand and help her frame the Empress. When Xu Jing Xin placed the poison on the Empress bracelet, XuanRong knew that it would not be long before she would get caught. Thus, when the Empress wore the Phoenix head ornament Shu Liu designed, XuanRong ordered Shu Liu to place a poison neutralizer on the crystal beads of the Phoenix eyes in order to erase the effect of the poison in the red jade bracelet. XuanRong prepared an odorless poison similar to the poison Xu Jing Xin used. It was placed at the edge of the nine feathers of the Phoenix head ornament. As time pass by, the odorless poison would disperse slowly and would only leave a tiny white powder. A little bit movement and the powder from the feathers would fell to the red Phoenix robe the Empress was wearing.
Based on the memories of her previous lifetime, XuanRong knew that after the Emperor announced the end of the banquet, a flustered Imperial Physician would enter the banquet and announce that Imperial Concubine Jin had lost her child, leading to the Emperor's wrath. He would then order the lockdown of the entire palace, not allowing a single soul to leave until he found the culprit. Even Long Hao Chen's harsh remarks could not move the angry Xu Ji Mo. Later, the maid who was ordered to put the poison was caught and confessed everything.
Since she already helped Xu Jing Xin frame the Empress, she knew that even if Empress Wei would not be thrown in the Cold Place, Xu Ji Mo would still make her pay. XuanRong was only waiting for the Empress' downfall before she would start her own plan. Her plan was to assassinate Long Hao Chen and pin the blame on Xu Ji Mo's head, sowing discord between Qian Zou and Jing Country. who would have thought that her plan would be wasted because someone moved before her?
