”I AM CARRYING A CHILD WITH THE BLOOD OF THE IMPERIAL FAMILY!! WHY CAN'T I KEEP HIM?! WHY?!”
When XuanFei heard that even her mother decided to abandon her child, she could not help but wail loudly. Due to stress, the red patch on her dress became wider, indicating that the flow of blood on her lower body increased.
Xiao Lou's head hurt. Thinking of the bigger picture, although she wanted to hold her first grandchild, she had to steel her heart and choose the right option. She looked at XuanFei who was crying loudly and could not help but sigh in sadness. Xiao Lou opened her mouth, wanting to say some comforting words but before she could utter a sentence, the door was opened from the outside and a palace maid entered the room together with a middle-aged man wearing an imperial physician garb and a couple of people wearing an apprentice-physician's robe.
Xiao Lou tacitly moved away from the bed and let the imperial physician approach XuanFei without saying anything. She stood at the edge of the bed, worrying for XuanFei's safety. Since she had decided to abandon her grandchild, Xiao Lou would not urge the Imperial Physician to save the child but with regards to XuanFei's situation, Xiao Lou was afraid that if the bleeding continue, it would affect XuanFei's health and could even lead to difficulty in conceiving another child later on. Worst, XuanFei could lose her life due to loss of blood.
When the Imperial Physician started working, he ordered Xiao Lou to leave the room to avoid any disturbance. Without any other choice, Xiao Lou could only wait outside.
When XuanFei saw the Imperial Physician, she weakly grabbed the old man's clothes, begging him to save her child.
”Please…Please..save my child! You have to save my child!”
When the imperial physician continued examining XuanFei's pulse without saying anything, ignoring her plea, XuanFei once again went mad. She raised her hand, forcefully grabbing the left hand of the imperial physician and angrily shouted, ”DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!”
XuanFei's body was weak but she was brimming with anger, her actions and words were starting to become forceful and rash.
”YOU OLD FOOL!!! I AM THE THIRD YOUNG MISS OF THE PRIME MINISTER'S RESIDENCE!! THE EMPEROR HAS ALREADY SPOKEN THAT I WILL ENTER THE CROWN PRINCE RESIDENCE AND BECOME THE CROWN PRINCESS!!! YOU HAVE TO OBEY ME!!!!”
XuanFei's eyes were bloodshot red, glaring at the imperial physician who did not budge a little bit even after hearing her words. Frustrated, XuanFei's face were full of anger and helplessness.
”WHY ARE YOU NOT SAYING ANYTHING?! THE CHILD I AM CARRYING RIGHT NOW HAS THE ROYAL BLOOD OF THE IMPERIAL FAMILY. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO MY CHILD, YOU AND YOUR NINE FILIAL GENERATION WILL BE EXECUTED[1] FOR KILLING THE FIRST GRANDCHILD OF THE IMPERIAL FAMILY!!!”
When the imperial physician heard XuanRong's threat, he only took a glance at her before resuming his work as if he did not hear XuanRong's words.
The imperial physician had been staying in the imperial palace for almost two decades. During those years, he had encountered many cases like this and had seen many schemes and plot inside the imperial harem. He had heard countless of curses repeatedly coming from the concubines who shared the same fate with the young girl in front of him. Since her threat was useless, she could only plea wholeheartedly… still trying to gain the sympathy of the imperial physician, hoping that he would change his mind and save her child.
