When XuanRong arrived at the Fourth Branch's courtyard, she saw her Eldest JiuMu and Second JiuMu sitting together with her maternal grandfather, Chen Zi Tao.

”Grandfather….”

XuanRong could not help but call Chen Zi Tao's name when she saw how devastated he was. His face seemed like it got older by ten long years. He was already old but due to being sent in the battlefield constantly, Chen Zi Tao's physique and aura was not of an old man, instead, he was similar to a hot-blooded youth that was full of vitality and vigor. Looking at her grandfather's sunken eyes and unenergetic face, XuanRong's heart felt like thousands of pins were pricking her heart. If her guess was correct, she was partly responsible to her Fourth JiuMu's situation. If she did not send Shu Yi in the Chen residence to monitor her Fourth JiuMu and at the same time catch the spy inside the residence, the spy would not have made his or her move, poisoning her Fourth JiuMu earlier than the planned date.

”Rong'er, you've come?”

Chen Zi Tao's eyes returned its glimmer as he stared at his only granddaughter. He raised his hand, beckoning XuanRong to move forward.

”XuanRong greets Maternal Grandfather, Eldest JiuMu and Second JiuMu.” Before moving forward, XuanRong made sure to show her filial piety. She bent her knees and bobbed, showing curtsy.

Chen Zi Tao waved his hand, indicating to end it.

”No need to curtsy. We are family. Come, grandfather and your maternal aunts in law are glad to see you.”

XuanRong stood up and walked towards the three. They were sitting at the table outside the outer room. Since the condition of Fourth Chen Furen and her unborn child was still critical, no one was allowed to enter the room and disturb the imperial physician. Thus, the three could only sit outside the outer room and wait for the result.

One of the servants carried a chair and a new set of tea cup, allowing XuanRong to sit together with her aunts in law and her maternal grandfather. XuanRong wanted to see her Fourth JiuMu but she did not know how to open it up in front of her elders. During her stay in Lu Shan, she instructed An Wei to conceal the fact that she was learning medicine and poison to her maternal grandfather. The responsibility and danger of receiving the teaching from the Yue Clan was great. She did not want to worry her maternal grandfather, thus, Chen Zi Tao only thought that she was learning Qinggong from An Wei and the rare plants and herbs she requested were part of her hobby.

”Rong'er, it is good that you are already here. Your Fourth JiuMu needs all the support we can give…”

Eldest Chen Furen stretched her arms and grabbed XuanRong's hands. Her eyes were misty and red, indicating that she had cried not long ago.

”Maternal Grandfather, Eldest JiuMu, Second JiuMu.. Rong'er has something to tell.”

XuanRong was in a dilemma. She wanted to tell her maternal family that she knew the art of medicine and convince them to allow her to see her Fourth JiuMu and make a diagnosis, but she did not know how to start.

Three pair of eyes were staring at XuanRong. She inwardly sighed. It was now or never. But before she says it, she had to make sure that aside from them, no one else would find out that she knew the art of medicine.

”This is important and cannot be disclosed to other people.”

Hearing her words, Chen Zi Tao immediately understood. He waved his hands, signaling the servants to leave. When the servants were planning to leave the fourth branch's courtyard, the door of the outer room opened, revealing a person wearing an imperial physician attire.
