Angel and demon did not expect this kind of reaction. They should have bent Evan to one side, light or darkness. Each person should have chosen one of these. But Evan didn't see it that way.

He was the strongest dark mage, not because he wanted to be a villain since childhood, but because the path he chose often intersected with the path of darkness and evil. Evan didn't follow the dark path but rather blazed his trail. He always acted only as he wanted to.

For the same reason, Evan wasn't going to choose left or right. Angel and demon didn't interest him. In his mind, they weren't worth his attention.

Besides the light and dark door, there was another door in front of Evan. It was between the light and dark door. It was a gray door with a purple outline. Next to this door stood a silhouette with a long cane in a gray cloak. It was not clear whether it was a human angel or a demon. Nothing was visible under the gray cloak.

There was no creepy aura from this door like the dark one or a pleasant aura like the light one. But, Evan felt that this door was his choice.

”It reminds me of something...” Mumbled Evan and headed for the gray door.

At that moment, he remembered a situation in which his Warp cleared. Back then, he died because demonic and divine energies had entered his body.

Then the three drops turned into a strange liquid and purified his Warp. Thanks to this, Evan was able to come back to life and become stronger. Last time he had chosen his way, now he was going to do the same.

Click.

Evan opened the gray door and stepped inside.

...

”Rid! Wake up.” A woman's voice was heard.

”Now...” Mumbled a thirteen-year-old boy with short, red hair.

<I had such a strange dream... why were a demon and an angel standing at the door? Eh, no need to think about it. It was just a dream.> Rid pondered and headed for the kitchen.

His whole family was in the kitchen: his father, his mother, and his older sister. They were eating and talking merrily. Rid joined them with a smile on his face. But, something seemed strange to him. He couldn't make out his family's faces, even after rubbing his eyes very hard.

Rid decided to ignore it. He sat down at the table and began to eat. Today's meal was a well-cooked steak. Rid cut off a piece and ate it happily. The others had steak on their plate as well, but Rid felt strange when he saw something.

He watched a piece of meat on his mother's fork turn into a cabbage leaf. It wasn't an illusion. He heard a distinct crunch.

”What's Rid?” His mother asked him.

”No, nothing, I just thought a piece of meat turned into cabbage...” Mumbled Rid.

His older sister joined in the conversation, ”Ahaha, Rid, didn't you get enough sleep? That's normal!”

She cut off a piece of meat, and suddenly it turned into a fried piece of fish.
