Chapter 274 - Shopping (2/2)
Evan was going to spend quite a bit of money, so he headed for one of the main vampires in the place. It was Dorlus Bexley. Unlike most vampires, he had dark, short hair and green eyes. That kind of look was pretty rare among vampires, but it wasn't out of the ordinary.
Evan said what he wanted, and when Dorlus realized that Evan's order would be very extensive, he decided to invite him into his office and discuss everything. Evan agreed, he had a lot to clarify, everything had to be perfect.
...
”Mr. Evan, have a seat,” Dorlus said calmly, pointing to a leather chair. Dorlus was dressed in ample robes of black and purple. He looked like a merchant from the wilderness.
Dorlus then asked Evan an unexpected question, ”Evan, would you like to taste what human blood tastes like? I'd be a little uncomfortable drinking it alone.”
Evan was puzzled but decided to decline, ”No thanks simply, I don't think human blood would taste good to me.”
”Suit yourself, I won't force it, then I apologize in advance.” Said Dorlus and snapped his fingers.
The next moment a short girl with blond, long hair entered the office. She sat down next to Dorlus and bared her neck. Dorlus did not hesitate to sink his fangs into her smooth skin and slowly began to drink her blood. There was no emotion on the girl's face. She was already used to this kind of procedure, and the slight tingle from the bite even seemed pleasant to her.
Evan used Mammon's Gaze and looked at the girl. He wanted to make sure she was human, and she was. Moreover, like all humans, she was very weak, her Rank was 0.1.
When Dorlus was full, he let the girl go and said, ”Sorry, I always want something refreshing to drink before an important deal.”
”Never mind, let's get down to business. First, I need formations capable of containing my Splash while breaking through the Barrier. Then I need tools for experimentation. Various kinds of weapons. Poisons, some simple spell scrolls, various plants, a couple of potions, cages, and cells, furniture...”
Evan continued his list for a while longer. Even a few sheets of paper wouldn't be enough for Evan to write down everything he needed. But, Dorlus was not surprised. He listened intently to Evan while at the same time thinking about what goods and materials would best fit Evan's request.
He was an experienced merchant and knew how to get something very rare and unique. Dorlus had an excellent memory and easily remembered even the largest orders.. He was one of those who controlled the trade throughout Darkfil, he was a master at his craft.
