Evan made his way to the Academy and headed for the library. The spellbooks were in separate rooms. Evan had access to all four floors, so the choice of spells was huge enough for him.

Entered the first room, Evan began looking for the right spells. He decided to choose two ”Amplification Magic” spells and one of ”Creation Magic.” Evan hadn't yet decided if he would take any ”Spell of the Seal.” If he thought a spell would be useful to him, Evan would certainly choose it.

After looking through most of the spellbooks that appealed to him, Evan went to the next room. He had already liked a few spells, but he would make his final choice only after looking through all of the spells in the library.

Any student could take a spellbook to learn a spell and then bring the book back to the library. Students didn't have to pay admission or buy these books, everything was completely free.

But, the ”Inner students” did have one major advantage. They had access to special rooms that housed rarer spells. Of course, the regular rooms also had a huge number of powerful and useful spells, but most of them were not unique.

This was another incentive for the ”Outer students” to become ”Inner.” Naturally, as an ”Inner student,” Evan would go into these rooms and search for suitable spells there as well.

After about ten hours, Evan had gone through most spell books and visited every room where these books were located. Of course, there were similar rooms below the fourth floor, but Evan was not allowed to go there.

<Compared to the small room in Zak's mansion, this is something incredible. The amount of spells that are in here really boggles the mind. I think just about anyone could find something to do here.>

Evan thought as he left the library. Evan was pleased with the spells he had chosen. Of course, he could not read all the spellbooks in such a short time, but he did not need to. The most important thing was to understand the essence and learn how to apply the spell. Then all that remained was to start practicing.

Evan returned home and placed the chosen books on the table. A fire burned in his eyes, he already wanted to learn these spells as soon as possible.

The first spell Evan chose was ”Touch of the Abyss,” the element of darkness,” Amplification Magic.”

This spell enveloped the magician's hands or any other object in a shell of darkness. It greatly increased the damage of attacks. What's more, the darkness had a corrosive effect. If Evan cast this spell and struck the steel wall several times, the point of impact would slowly corrode. It was a bit like a chemical burn or acid, only the effect was stronger, but also shorter.

Evan really liked his first spell of the ”Amplification Magic,” ”Ice Veil,” so he originally wanted to choose a similar first-level spell. But, then he decided to abandon that idea. He wanted to try different spells to decide what suited him best.

There were a lot of spells of ice element in the library, they worked about the same as ”Ice Veil,” only they were much more powerful. But when Evan saw ”Touch of the Abyss,” he decided to choose this particular spell.

Evan looked at the second book. It was gray and looked old, and unlike the other spellbooks, it had very few pages.

It was the second ”Amplification Magic” spell Evan had chosen, called ”Ghost Step.”

If a magician cast this spell, a thin layer of smoke appears around his feet. His steps will become barely noticeable and almost silent, and his speed will increase significantly.
