18 The Look in her eyes (1/2)

”Asasis, do you think father will stay longer for this time?” I asked as we stood our way to the dining hall. Father was finally home. I could ask him for the advice for breaking to the Magic God Realm.

”I don't know, Sis, you know he has too many responsibilities to bear as a King. And with your planned breakthrough as well as your coronation in a half year...” Asasis sighed and I could see emotion, I couldn't describe in her eyes. Asasis wasn't the only one that showed me this emotion, with the difference of mother, all of the servants, as well as my father and fiance, showed me the exact same expression repeatedly the last couple of years. It bugging my mind but I couldn't quite make it out what it was. Although my mother didn't show these expressions she always gave me kind of a pained look.

Asasis and I were identical twins with me being older. The only difference between us was that I was the calm indifferent one and she was the playful demoness type one. Our mother is called Amara and our father is called Chancellor. We are royal family ruling Azure Nebula World, meaning I and my sister are princesses me being crown princess. In this world, it doesn't matter if the ruler is a woman or a man. The only necessity to inherit the throne is being married and be at least 25 years old. Next year right before mine 26th birthday I would marry a son of a prime minister - Danior and be coronated as next queen. Our families were close for generations and the family heads decided our engagement before our birth. I got engaged to him for the reason being older and almost rejected it because it wasn't fair towards Asasis. All three of us grew up together and Danior was like an older brother to us. He was older than us by five years thus being 25. We became engaged when I was 20 after my sister Asasis pushed me towards it.

Although I was quite nervous about our engagement I was glad I went with it. Danior was talented, had a great personality and even after our engagement he didn't cut off Asasis from us. Although relations between me and Asasis became strained for a while, when I was 21 years old we became once again close to each other. Reason for that was I awakened Time Affinity, she was delighted by this and all of our family were happy for me. Although I was talented before, awakening Time Affinity pushed my talent to the next level. I trained almost all day long and tried to become the youngest Magic God ever.

When I was 25 I became half-step magic god and came to father for the advice to advance to Magic God. He was delighted and at the time I thought he was proud of me. We discussed for a while and then father brought me to show me the place I would try to break through. We returned later that night and father described the process of creating the channels and discarding the mana and order in what I should discard them.

”Celestia, listen to me. Discard your Time and Spatial Attribute first. If any problem would occur you should be able to protect yourself, ok?” Father gave me a stern gaze and I could only agree. His expression when he saw agree remained the same but I saw a light flicker in his eyes. Bidding good night to him I slowly made my way to my room.

”Psst, Celestia, psst...”

I was immersed in my thoughts when mothers muffled voice called out to me, ”Do you need anything moth...”

”Psst, listen to me I don't have enough time. Listen to me! No matter what you mustn't discard Time and Spatial affinities first.” I could sense panic and seeing her expression I knew she was deadly serious!

”But...” I wanted to inquire more but she didn't let me.

”No buts! Promise me, you won't discard your Spatial and Time elements, promise!”I could sense unmeasurable sorrow and I could see her trembling. Nevertheless, she stared at me with all of her seriousness.

I closed my eyes and promised, ”I promise, mother!”

She gave me a nod and then her image vanished in the air.

Week passed. Today was the day of my breakthrough to the Magic God Realm. I know I should be happy and nervous at the same time, but I couldn't bring myself to. The late-night conversation with my mum was constantly on my mind and when I would try to confront her, she would shrug me off or hide from me. I was more and more suspicious but couldn't ask anyone about it. I guess I will go with the flow. Everybody started to evade me and when I asked why I was told that they don't want to disturb me. I saw this plausible but my suspicions were steadily rising. However, I still followed what father told me and we teleported to the site where I would advance. I came inside the cave and expected the father to come with me but he turned around and with the words, ”I hope to see the arrival of the new Magic God” sealed the cave.
