Chapter 36:Pilot (1/2)

”It is advised that you should not use Renowned Soul-Beasts outside. It's too difficult, particularly if you're a lower level than the Soul-Beasts.” He pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and proceeded...

”I know you all have Legendary Soul-Beasts because of your backgrounds, so best of luck.” He started, staring at Jomel.

”I know you like to go on different trips with us, but please comply while we are still outdoors.” And then he went on to clarify a couple of points.

Outside are the minions of the outer Legendary Soul-Beasts, Jomel taught from the Grimo clan descendant or their squad chief.

Within the geographic Continent are alien habitats, new lands, Aboriginal Soul-Beasts, and Legendary Soul-Beasts attempting to enter.

Normal Soul-Beasts up to Semi-Legendary Soul-Beasts were unable to join due to their poorer Souls in contrast to Legendary Soul-Beasts, which generally have pressure from their own being and a more strong body.

*Laughter*

When the squad was having fun, Jomel went to the flying deck, where there were two old ordinary people driving, not a Soul-Beast Tamer.

He didn't attempt to speak; instead, he simply said that he wants to inspect the flight deck or cockpit because he enjoys piloting or driving an aircraft.

The two just nodded to him, but Jomel had never done anything like this before. Jomel didn't like these two because they weren't Soul-Beast tamers.

Most of the time, Kingdoms, Countries, and Continents trust that Average People will commend them for their courage in battle; the realm is so vast, with so many resources, that there isn't much friction between races.

Even a child will survive here without someone helping them or their guardians, which is why Francis grows up safe despite the fact that he is already a child and not yet in the army.

Average citizens or warriors will be paid as long as they performed admirably.

It could be a promotion or money, everything can be settled.

But Jomel cannot believe them because they are ready to put their lives in danger only to rescue these people with backgrounds.

People are still scared of dying, regardless of what happens or their history, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Since history shits are still untrustworthy, he couldn't totally trust anybody. He was so shocked at what he discovered when they let him in earlier; these are two elderly men who are too old.

What are these two seniors doing on the frontline if this was his former life...?

Can't they just rest and enjoy their retirement while watching their grandchild play...?

So, after a long pause, he says, ”What are you two seniors doing here on the battlefield...?”

For a brief second, the two became deafeningly quiet, before bursting out laughing.

”RAHAHAHAHA You, young man! You cannot judge a person based on their whole life; you can only judge a person based on how they die ”said the elderly gentleman to his left.

Jomel didn't understand a word he said; what was the connection with these two old men doing here...?

As a result, he said, ”I don't understand...”

The man on the right grinned as he removed his helmet.

”Heehee Simply put, Young Soldier or Tamer, we don't want to die and witnessed by our our families, we don't want to see them weep, we want them to be proud of us, and we also want to spend our final life for humanity's future, like you.”

*Tudor* is an abbreviation for ”Tudor”

*Tudob* Formalized adverbial adverbi

Jomel's pulse was sensed by their words; they didn't want to waste their lives, and even in their prime, they wanted to support humanity's future.

Their honesty was not the same as the doctor's sincerity from his former life experience. ”Don't worry, young lad, we'll keep you safe.”

This time the old man from his left side put his helmet before saying

”Our families will be rewarded as long as we did our best... we don't have a tamer like you to support them. Since our bloodline's talent isn't all that high, this is the only way we can help them.”

He didn't speak again after that, only focusing on piloting the plane.

Jomel did not return and instead tried to accompany them because he admires their kind and heroic nature.

They told him a lot, and he realized that once they entered the spatial gate or void, these two old men would perish.

All, including him, will eventually reach that position and abandon these two men, but at the very least he needs to join them in their final breath; they probably know they'll transform to ashes, but they're still determined.

For a long time, I was intrigued and couldn't help but inquire. ”Young man, what characteristics do I possess if I want to be a pilot...?”

The older man couldn't help but wonder, ”Aren't you already a Tamer...?!”
