42 Seal (2/2)
He himself started melting butter in a small saucepan on the side as that would be later needed for the mix. He gave her an easy job so he didn't think something would go wrong.
Glancing at the four other small bowls, Dongmei didn't find that a hard task and followed the command. She first started with the flour as there were the most of it and picked it up, ready to pour it into the bowl.
”Wait!” Wuxing saw it and shouted, trying to stop her, but it was too late. He could only stop half of the bowl from spilling but the rest fall down. Obviously pouring flour like that would spill the flour dust everywhere and that's what happened. There was too many of flour as Wuxing wanted to do a few servings so some of it burst upwards onto her apron.
Dongmei only could close her eyes before the powder hit her in the face. Putting down the bowl, she could only spit out the flour dust and look at Wuxing dejectedly, ”I told you I'm bad at cooking…”
”No, It was my fault, I could have told you. Next time use a spoon or a cup to pour large amounts of powdery ingredients. Don't move,” Wuxing sighed as he picked up a kitchen towel and soaked it under the sink to clean the face for her. He had to take responsibility for that as he didn't think she would do it like that. For him, it was a common sense which clearly he couldn't use here while teaching her.
Putting the butter which already melted to the side so it can cool down, he decided to use a different method to teach her.
”Dummy, don't worry, not much spilt as the bowl is large so we can just continue,” Wuxing cheered her up seeing the sad expression on her face. This time, after cleaning everything up, he stood right behind her while holding her hands so as nothing could go wrong.
”Now let's take that wooden spatula and mix everything together… That's right, great. Just like that. Now it's time for the second step,” As Wuxing took control over her body, he led her hand, teaching her the mixing motion which would improve her skills.
The second step was to mix eggs, milk and melted butter together before putting it inside the bowl with flour, mixing everything together once again. Once again, it wasn't hard with them working together and Dongmei actually started focusing on each word of Wuxing as he thaught her. There was no mixer in the apartment but thanks to this, they could actually have some fun together.
His head was placed on her shoulder and she couldn't help but tease him from time to time, placing either flour or a piece of the mix at his nose. As time went on and the mix was finally done for frying, Dongmei realised that she actually enjoyed spending time with him more than the actual cooking.
They joked around, teased each other having a great time and that's what she actually wanted. Hearing him scold her each time she failed or give out gentle hugs as a reward for listening to him. Wasn't that her dream? Dongmei didn't need to be a girl from next door who marries her childhood friend while living in two story house, but instead she could be herself and still have it all.
”Dummy, are you listening to me? You have been spacing out recently...” Wuxing asked confused as he poked Dongmei's forehead and leaned over with his forehead to test the temperature. They both touched, having their lips millimetres away but Wuxing pulled away, commenting, ”I guess it's not a fever...”
He noticed her staring at him with a weird smile so he couldn't her but worry about her well-being. As a response to his questions, Dongmei leaned over and finished the kiss they missed before saying lightly, ”I'm okay, can't I just stare at you? Let's fry them now, I'm getting hungry already.”
”Alright, but let me show you first. You can watch from the side,” Wuxing nodded without knowing the meaning of this kiss, but Dongmei knew what it was. It was her final seal stating that he was hers now, marking the territory forever.
