Chapter 169 - We Found The House (1/2)
He had certainly sent the two to look for the house but he didn't actually expect them to find it in a single day.
Hecathe was enthusiastic to know what happened but at the same time, from LeiLei's expression, he could guess that it was not that exciting of an incident.
”Why do you look like that if you found the house?” Hecathe asked cautiously.
”We found the house,” LeiLei repeated with a sigh as she sat down on the ground with her legs crossed. She looked a bit tired but she still spoke and narrated everything that had happened, ”We went to look for the house and after four hours of searching, we were able to find it. It didn't look the same and had been renovated, but I was still able to recognize it.”
”And?”
”And we decided to go in. At first, it looked like nobody was home so we waited and knocked just to be sure, and oddly enough, the door opened on its own. This meant that someone was certainly inside and had opened the door for us so we took it as an invitation and went on in.”
”You went inside a house that looked to be empty and you did that just because the door opened on its own...? Are you an idiot?” Hecathe asked as he summed up her words in a single sentence.
”When you put it like that, it makes us sound stupid,” LeiLei frowned as she spoke.
”Well, at least you know that,” Hecathe responded with a shrug.
LeiLei pursed her lips into a thin line and glared at the man before she rolled her eyes and decided to continue, ”We went inside and the place was a bit too different from what I had remembered it to be.”
LeiLei's face seemed to have cringed up as she remembered the horrific experience.
”It was hell,” The girl explained it with a single word as she shivered at the mere thought of it and this only made Hecathe feel even more interested to know what had happened.
Even the Dorgon hadn't managed to scare the girl at all so what could it possibly be that had affected LeiLei so much...?
”It was filled with traps,” LeiLei spoke as she continued, ”We walked into the place and the door behind us closed, forcing us to be trapped inside, and then, one of the wooden panels from above broke and fell on us. If it hadn't been for Marvin, It would have certainly injured us.”
Hecathe blinked in surprise as he heard this and now he started to wonder if LeiLei got the injury because she was really beaten up by someone or if she simply got the injury after falling into a trap that she could not escape from.
”We initially thought it was a bad coincidence and ignored it,” LeiLei gritted her teeth as she spoke, ”But then it happened again. There were small marbles thrown on the ground and as soon as we walked a step forward, the marbles threw us out of balance and we fell down!”
Hecathe looked to be attentively listening to this, but in reality, he was not just listening, he was also trying to understand why all of this happened and who could possibly be behind this.
”As if falling wasn't enough, the floor suddenly flipped over us and we were swallowed down by the ground!” LeiLei added as she slammed her hands on the table.
This girl had clearly not been enjoying her time back at her old house.
”We fell to this smelly basement and a bunch of dead rats were thrown at us from above.” LeiLei continued, ”By now, we had already realized that something was weird. So many bad coincidences would certainly not happen together like this.”
Hecathe nodded his head as he agreed with her. He felt as if their realization had come a bit late since they should have already understood the sign when they found the marbles on the floor.
”We tried to get out of the place but it was dark and we couldn't find a normal door.”
As LeiLei recalled the entire incident once again, she felt as if the more she spoke, the more strange it seemed.
Who in the world would set up so many traps inside their house...?!

”What should we do now?” LeiLei asked anxiously as she looked at Marvin.
Marvin sighed as he took out his double-bladed sword.
