Chapter 117 - The Daughter Of An Enemy (1/2)
”Are you talking about the one that killed the Hecathe of this world...?” Hecathe questioned in disbelief.
Marvin gulped as he nodded his head, ”He's the only one who had such an ability.”
”And you're saying he had a daughter?”
This time, Marvin shook his head as he spoke, ”He was not young but he was still not married and there was no news of him having a child. The three willows of spring are not supposed to have romantic relationships with people nor are they allowed to have children. If anything like that happens, the willow would be forced to step down from his or her position.”
When Hecathe heard this, he was even more sure about it.
The willow that Alphius had killed was an ambitious one and he would surely not let his kid affect his path to become a tyrant.
”It's him...” Hecathe spoke with closed eyes after thinking about it for a few minutes.
”But then... Should you really be trusting her...?” Marvin asked with a small frown and Hecathe gulped.
At first, Hecathe had no idea that LeiLei would have such a background. He took her in and decided to let her join his plan because he thought she was just an unfortunate girl who had been stuck in that gambling den.
If he had known that she was the daughter of that man, Hecathe would have certainly thought twice before doing something so hasty.
Marvin looked as if he didn't know if he was supposed to laugh or cry as he pointed out, ”You're trusting the daughter of the man you killed. To be more exact, the man who was killed by the body that you are currently in and also the man who killed the Hecathe of this world...”
”...”
Even Hecathe found this situation to be ridiculous. It was so ridiculous that he couldn't even bring himself to laugh at it.
Why was it that fate always had something like this kept in store for him...?!
She was the daughter of the man who had killed the him of this world and he was in the body of the man who had killed her father...
Their ill fate was already decided for them.
”Hecathe... I think you need to rethink your plan,” Marvin sighed as he suggested.
Hecathe was silent for a few minutes before he shook his head and responded, ”She doesn't know anything yet. She doesn't even know what Alphius looks like and she doesn't know the cause of her parent's deaths. If we don't tell her, everything is going to be alright.”
Marvin, ”You were the one who said it... The truth is bitter and it can never be hidden. She is bound to find out the truth one day.”
”...”
”Think it over. Do you really need her help?”
Hecathe gulped as he heard this question and this time, instead of evaluating the situation with the help of his brain, he decided to depend on his gut feeling as he replied, ”I've thought it through. As I have said before, she's the perfect one for the job and if we keep her close, we can monitor her and make sure that she doesn't find out the truth.”
Marvin was a little surprised to hear this. Till now, the impression Hecathe gave off was that of a calculative man who used his brain more than his heart and would analyze each and every situation carefully before coming up with a plan, however, this sudden decision was clearly not analyzed that thoroughly.
”Once we catch the whale, we can tell her the truth,” Hecathe added with a sigh, ”She deserved to know the truth but not now.”
Marvin didn't share the same thoughts, but at the end of the day, it was Hecathe's call to make so the boy could do nothing about it.
”Then I'll leave that up to you to decide,” Marvin sighed as he spoke, ”If she really does find out the truth and pose a threat to our plan, we'll have to eliminate her.”
Hecathe gulped as he heard this and nodded his head, agreeing with the boy. What Marvin had said was logical. If she does pose a threat to their plan, they would need to eliminate her, however, for some odd reason, Hecathe didn't like the idea of killing the poor girl who couldn't even stay in her own room alone because she was afraid to.
