Chapter 89 - An Interesting Future (1/2)
Hecathe sighed as he heard this question and answered, ”A sticky person as in a person who keeps sticking onto people like a leech even when the other party clearly doesn't enjoy your presence.”
”Ah...” Raven muttered in understanding before he spoke up, ”But I'm not a sticky person. I don't usually stick to people.”
”...”
You're clearly doing it as we speak..!
”I hardly ever find myself interested in someone,” Raven continued without putting too much thought into it, ”And you just happened to be a person who caught my interest.”
Hecathe stopped walking and turned around as he faced Raven and unhesitantly asked, ”Are you interested in men?”
”Eh?” Raven blinked in confusion as he heard this question.
”Don't act like you don't understand. I'm asking you whether you're interested in dating men,” Hecathe spoke up with a sigh and didn't even giving Raven space to answer as he continued speaking, ”Even if you are, I'm not. So, stop following me.”
”...” Raven was left speechless for a minute before he eventually broke out laughing.
”You're quite conceited!” Raven exclaimed in between his laughter as he defended himself, ”Why do you make me sound like a predator? I just want to make friends with you.”
”And why should I trust you?” Hecathe folded his hands as he questioned, ”Why would I want to become friends with someone who is clearly not being completely honest?”
Raven shrugged his shoulder with a smile as he indirectly confirmed that he was indeed not willing to be completely honest with Hecathe, ”You're not that honest either. Hecathe isn't even your real name.”
”...”
It actually was his real name... But of course, he would naturally not tell Raven this fact.
”What? Were you a fan of the late Hecathe so you decided to adopt his name as your alias?” Raven questioned with a smirk as he tilted his head.
”Whether I am a fan or not has nothing to do with you,” Hecathe's eyes seemed to have contracted in displeasure as he spoke, ”And the look you have in your eyes... It really bugs me.”
It had been bugging him since day one when they met at the city gate.
”The look in my eyes?” Raven raised his eyebrows as he repeated and questioned, ”What do you mean?”
”That look you always give,” Hecathe clicked his tongue as he pointed out, accusing the man, ”As if you're looking down on the people around you.”
”...”
”I have said this before and I am going to say this again but I really don't like you and I can't even imagine getting along well with someone who looks down on people and considers themselves as someone superior.”
Raven nodded his head as he heard this, seeming to agree with it.
