Chapter 60 - A Delusional Ghost (1/2)
”I would now like to introduce our third item of the day!”
The rest of the auction was rather boring as there were no further bidding wars, however, Hecathe would still say that it was interesting to see the different items that were displayed.
Unfortunately, as expected, none of the items managed to impress Hecathe enough to place a bid. Surprisingly enough, Raven was also uninterested in the rest of the items introduced, and Hecathe couldn't help but wonder if it was perhaps because the man had run out of money...?
Hecathe leaned back on the sofa as he tried to take a short rest. He closed his eyes and for a second there, he almost fell asleep, however, he was woken up immediately by a sound.
”Save me...”
Hecathe blinked as he looked around and tried to spot the person that had said it, but no matter how much he looked, he couldn't see anyone.
”Save me, please...” The voice came again and Hecathe gulped as he wondered if there was a ghost in this auction house.
The voice was sweet and the person sounded rather young but there was nobody around who could possibly be the owner of the voice.
”What the...?” Hecathe muttered in confusion as he tried to understand if he was merely hallucinating it or not.
”You, there! You can hear me, can't you?” The person suddenly sounded angry as he snapped.
”A ghost?” Hecathe's eyebrows creased together in confusion as he questioned.
”Do I look like a ghost to you?!” The voice sounded offended this time and Hecathe was now sure that just like how he could hear the person, the other person could also hear him.
”You don't look like anything to me. Are you not a ghost?”
”Of course, not!” The person snapped with a scoff, ”How can you ask such a thing?! I am the great emperor and you dare call me a ghost?!”
Hecathe pursed his lips as he wondered if it was a delusional ghost.
”Say, where are you, great emperor? Why can't I see you? Are you perhaps too shy to show yourself?” Hecathe asked with a mocking smirk plastered on his face.
”You're blind if you can't see me! Look up!” The voice instructed and Hecathe turned his head up with a frown as he tried to see if there was someone who would be befitting of the title of the great emperor, however, he could still not spot the person.
”Are you sure you're not a delusional ghost?” Hecathe asked casually.
”I'm right there! You're looking at me right now!” The voice shouted but somehow Hecathe had the feeling that he was the only one who could hear the voice.
”I'm looking at you...?” Hecathe tilted his head in confusion.
As long as he was aware, he was not looking at a person but rather, he was looking at an... Egg...?
”Could it be that you're an egg?” Hecathe almost found it hard to believe as he questioned.
