Dong Xuebing answered. “Hello, I’m Dong Xuebing.”

“Chief, I’m Xiao Luo.” Luo Haiting said. “We had finally finished the promotion materials. Do you want to see it?”

Dong Xuebing had forgotten about this. He needs to present the materials to Deputy Mayor Zhao Xinglong tomorrow. He might even need to discuss it with the County Government. This is very important, and he had instructed Luo Haiting to show him once it is completed. “Alright. I will return to the Agency now.”

“No…” Luo Haiting replied. “How can I make you travel? I will bring it over to you.”

Dong Xuebing had wanted Guo Panwei to collect it. Still, Panwei has just started work this afternoon and doesn’t know anything about the County. If the materials need amendments, Dong Xuebing will need Luo Haiting to correct it. “Alright. Sorry to trouble you. Oh… I am not staying at the County Party Committee Quarters. Come over to the third street behind Commercial street. There is a Jia De Hotel. I will wait for you at the entrance. It is not far from the Agency and only a few minutes’ drives.”

Luo Haiting paused for a second and replied softly. “Ok. I will go over now.”

After hanging up, Dong Xuebing dried his hair and got dress before going downstairs.

After a while, a middle-aged woman appeared. She is riding an electric bicycle and parked in front of Dong Xuebing. Luo Haiting looks slightly embarrassed and uneasy as she keeps looking around. She stuttered. “Chief… the documents…” She quickly pulled out a document and two brochures from her bag.

Dong Xuebing was surprised by Luo Haiting’s reaction, and he realized they are standing outside a hotel. He immediately knows why Luo Haiting is so nervous. Sigh… I should have considered this carefully. Asking her to come to look for me at a hotel will give her the wrong idea. But you are also quite imaginative. You are already in your forties, and do you think I will want to do anything to you? Dong Xuebing explained. “My apartment is infested with roaches, and the pest control had sprayed insecticides this morning. So, I am staying here temporarily. Once they are in the room, Dong Xuebing sat down and start reading the document.

Luo Haiting looked at Dong Xuebing and the surroundings before taking off her coat slowly. She placed her coat on the backrest of a chair and let her hair down before sitting down beside Dong Xuebing and look at him nervously.

Dong Xuebing continued to read the document without looking at Luo Haiting.

Luo Haiting was relieved and knew she might have misunderstood Chief Dong. His explanation about his apartment should be true.

When Luo Haiting comes to meet Dong Xuebing, she thought Dong Xuebing wants to bed her. If it is someone else, Luo Haiting will not overthink. Although she is forty-years-old and had maintained her looks well, guys in their twenties should not be interested in her. But she had heard rumors that Dong Xuebing’s helper is much older than him, and he likes mature women. Furthermore, Dong Xuebing had asked her to meet him in a hotel.

Luo Haiting wonders if Chief Dong really wants to touch her, how she should react.

After a while, Dong Xuebing finished reading the document.

“Are the materials fine?” Luo Haiting asked.

Dong Xuebing nodded and replied. “It’s alright, and both versions are fine. I think we will use the first version. Help me print a few copies and send it to the County Government tomorrow.”

“Ok.”

When Luo Haiting was about to leave, they heard footsteps outside.
