Rere returned to the room. He was surprised to find Hanin was asleep beside Leon. The little boy was hugging his sister in his sleep. Rere was moved because the girl was returned at her own will. Rere approached them and adjusted the blanket to cover her two children's bodies. She caressed her cheek as guilt welled up in her heart. She should have loved Hanin because she had promised Dila.
”I'm sorry, Hanin. You're right, I love Leon more and ignored you. Sorry for making you the victim of my frustration toward Dino. I don't want him to like me. Sorry, I can't be a good mother to you, I also can't be a good wife to your father. Your father is actually a good person, but...”
”But what, Auntie?” Hanin's unexpected voices startled Rere.
”You have not slept yet?” Rere's eyes widened. Being caught in this kind of situation embarrassed her.
”Don't need to pretend to be so fierce, aunty.” Hanin pursed her lips.
”Your expression is so annoying.”
”I just act like you, auntie. Pretending to be evil so dad stays away from you and hates you. Pretending to be cruel to make dad hate you?” Hanin got up from the bed, looking at Rere from head to toe with her arms crossed.
”Why are you looking at mommy like that?”
”Your acting is bad, Auntie.”
”Hanin, I'm not acting. The stepmother is evil. Every fairy tale narrates the cruelty of the stepmother. Like the story of Cinderella who was tortured by her mother and step sister. I'm a bad person, not a good person.”
”Okay then. I will make auntie a cruel stepmother ambassador.”
”Hanin.”
Hanin climbed onto the chair to be the same height as Rere. She landed her index finger on Rere's lips.
”Auntie, stop talking too much. Mom Dila already said that you are a good person, not a bad person. Mom says you once helped dad when people abused him. You also help auntie Gesa from the bad guys. Mom said you were a good person.”
Rere's eyes glazed over. She didn't expect that Dila would tell Hanin good things after what she did at the park. Rere regretted her rude remark and disrespectful action to Dila. No wonder Bara is crazy about Dila and almost crazy when the woman is gone. Bara married an angel so he didn't want to let her go.
”I______” Rere stuttered, unable to speak anymore. Suddenly her stomach hurt and she felt sick. ”I'm going to the bathroom first. I have a stomach ache.”
Rere ran to the bathroom. She was in such a hurry that her clothes were wet. Since it was the case, she decided to take a shower because she hasn't showered in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Hanin had a video call with Dino. His father called her when Rere had gone to the bathroom. He missed his children and decided to call Hanin
”Hey, dad. How are you?” Hanin greeted her father, waving at his father.
”Good, baby. What about you?”
”I'm great, dad,” said Hanin with a Malay accent. ”Dad, are you still in the office? Isn't it already so late? You need to go home and have some rest.” Hanin acts like Ananya.
”Are you my daughter or my wife?”
”So annoying, of course, I'm your daughter. Aunt Rere is Baba's wife.”
”Still mad at her?”
Hanin shook her head, ”She just behaves that way to make me hate him.”
”Has your hatred gone?”
”No. Mom Dila has explained everything to me. Mom said Aunt Rere was a good person because she helped you from bad people.”
Dino's body shuddered. Why did Dila tell Hanin that Rere had helped him and they spend the night together? The result of that night's actions was Leon, the boy who grows into a handsome and adorable baby.
”What did Mom Dila tell you?” Dino was curious.
”Mom said I was too young to understand it.”
”Thank God.” Dino rubbed his chest.
”Why did you thank God?”
”Because I feel grateful for God's blessing today,” said Dino. He had to answer Hanin's question because the girl's curiosity was increasing every day. If he did not answer, the child will disturb him until she gets an answer. Hanin is a sharp child but she will stop after getting an answer.
”I miss you, dad. Please call me regularly.”
”Why don't you come to KL with me?”
”Are Aunt Rere and Leon coming with me?”
