Chapter 67 - Reres Honesty (1/2)

”You can't talk like that with your husband,” Dino's index finger landed on Rere's lips.

The woman fell silent feeling Dino's hand caressing her cheek. Dino's gaze was so soothing that it made Rere hypnotized. The two of them looked at each other. For some reason, Dino often made her mind blank. His charm weakened and paralyzed her.

”Can you keep your hand away from my lips?” Rere glared at him. She still behaves arrogantly.

”Why? Do you have another fantasy?” Dino chuckled, teasing Rere. The man winked.

Rere looked away. She can't be weak. She has to stick with her stance. She should not give her heart to Dino.

”What is it? Why are you so annoying?” Rere moved away from Dino and left the man. Rere is very upset that Dino always teases her.

How stupid I am! Rere cursed her stupidity.

Rere could guess if one day Dino would use her weakness. Rere wondered why she could have this echolalia. She doesn't know why she can talk with Dino smoothly. Sometimes she suspected that Dino had magic that makes her could talk honestly.

Rere walked away from Dino towards the beach. She sat on the beach playing in the sand before starting to make a sandcastle. Even though it's child's play but because there is nothing she could do, she just does it. She builds a high palace with the sand.

Dino smiled when he looked at Rere from afar. He watched her silently, not wanting to spoil Rere's mood. He knows if his wife is arrogant, but her heart is soft and easily offended by others.

”I finished it,” Rere said in satisfaction while wiping sweat on her forehead. Some part of her face was covered by sand, but Rere was happy because she finished the sandcastle which included twelve towers. ”My time for accompanying Leon and Alana to build a sandcastle is not in vain. At least I have activities for these seven days.”

”What activity?” Dino suddenly appeared. The man approaches her with his hand in his pocket. He has a habit of putting his hands in his pockets.

”Why do you ask? Do we know each other?” Rere was sarcastic as she looked away. She thinks Dino is very annoying and nosy.

”If you don't know me, let's get to know each other first.” Dino reached out. ”Dino Putra Chaniago, you can call me Dino. I am a widower of two children.”

”Widower?” Rere snorted. ”Then what about me? Am I not your wife?”

”Well, I am wrong again,” Dino complained while patting his head. ”Rere, why everything that I do always seems wrong in your eyes. What should I do so you can accept me? Can you tell me? If you're like this, I should hang myself on a chili tree.” Dino said in sarcasm, imitating the stand-up comedy scene that was going viral on the tik-tok application.

”Why did I never hear about people who hang themselves on chili trees?” Rere took Dino's words seriously.

Dino took a deep breath. He cannot predict Rere's childish nature. He always tries to remember Bara's words that Rere is spoiled and playful. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, always getting what she wanted, those things grow her into an arrogant woman.

”Oh, Rere. My lovely wife. You're really tense.” Dino approached Rere and pinched both of Rere's cheeks.

”What's wrong with you?” Rere brushed off Dino's hand and pinched his arm as revenge.

”Ae to terms with the fact that she was going to marry a man she hated. It's a woman's nature, it's hard to forget a man's mistakes even after years. Dino's words still hurt her heart. His words are like nails chiseled into the wood,  even though the nail has been removed, the hole is still there. That's what Rere feels. The pain is still there even after their marriage.

”What do you want to say?”

”Our wedding was too sudden and too fast for me _____________________” Rere took a breath  and exhale slowly. She observes Dino's expression to find out whether he was angry or not. She was still hesitant to talk.

”Continue?”

”Every woman's dream is to marry the man she loves. You and I got married because of Leon, that's why I was forced by Bara to marry you. It's not that I'm selfish not thinking about Leon's future but I have reasons why I rejected you that time.

”Is it because you still have a grudge against me?” Dino cut Rere's words.

”You can say that. I have a delicate and sensitive feeling. This trait makes me only have a small circle of friends. I'm considered too sensitive. I never think about what other people say. As long as I don't ask them to feed me, then I'm not affected by their words. Since that night, I don't want to help anyone anymore. I feel unlucky every time I help people. My life was in danger when I saved Gesa and I also became a key witness of your wife's death.”

Dino nodded understanding how Rere felt.

”Sorry if I ruined your life. Sorry if you don't like me. I just want to be close to you. I'm this kind of person. Let's just say that we are friends and don't be burdened by our status. I'll give you some time, Rere.”

”I can see if you still love Ananya. I understand that you used to like Dila, but it's just admiration because Dila can be a good mother to Hanin. I personally don't mind Hanin's existence, but I can't accept you. I still can't believe we're married.”

”Sorry if our marriage weighs your mind.”

”I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I feel honesty is better than lying. Can we not be like husband and wife in general. I know I have obligations with you but I'm not ready to do all that. I can't serve________”
