Fan MeiLi was sitting at one of the tables, waiting for Li Wei to finish speaking with the police. ”Oh my god! I can't believe I was able to witness such a grand show.” Zhang Jing said with glee, sitting down next to Fan MeiLi.
She could only smile at hearing Zhang Jing's words, ”I'm happy you enjoyed yourself, I was very nervous for tonight.” Fan MeiLi said letting out a breath.
”Please, you had nothing to worry about. My friend, you were amazing tonight, brave and kind.”
”Thanks for saying that, I hope the Li family feels the same way.” Fan MeiLi stated noticing Li Wei coming their way.
Zhang Jing just shook her head when she heard Fan MeiLi and gave her a smile, ”Listen! I'm sure this isn't the way you expected to meet your boyfriend's parents. Just look on the bright side, compared to that Sarah woman, you'll look one hundred times better in their eyes.” She said standing up.
Before she could respond, Li Wei came and interrupting their conversation, ”Sorry, Miss Zhang, but I'm going to have to steal MeiLi away.” He said while offering his hand to Fan MeiLi. Giving Zhang Jing a smile, she took his hand and walked away to one of the hotel's private lounges.
Once alone Fan MeiLi gave him a cunning smirk, ”So, did I do a good job, CEO Li. I hope I lived up to my role as the Hansoo Group's CEO's girlfriend.”
Grabbing a drink and sitting on the sofa, Li Wei let out a chuckle, ”You did a fine job, Miss Fan. I have to say I was impressed by the speech you gave Sarah Wu. It really made me see you in a different light and I'll have to say the same goes with my family.” He said then taking a sip of his drink.
Sitting on the sofa across from him with her arms cross, ”That's wonderful. If your mother warms up to me that she will stop bothering you with blind dates and random matchmaking.”
”You were worried about such a thing?” Li Wei asked tilting his head.
”Of course! Sir, you might not know but high society woman is hard to please especially when it comes to their children. If you are known as the cold emperor than that would make your mother the queen dowager. I have to become your empress then I need to show my worth in front of your mother.” Fan MeiLi said in a serious voice.
