38 A Sweet Call (2/2)

Opening the door and seeing CEO Li's still talking with his guest Fan MeiLi went to her desk. ”You know I would never bug you but I heard you decline to work with the company.”

[MeiLi, you know I hate to work with huge companies and no one gets bigger than CEO Li.]

”You already gave him the 'Desert Star', so I believed you had a good relationship.”

Over the phone, Fan MeiLi heard an over-dramatic groan, [I met CEO Li when he did business in Milan and as a symbol of our good faith I gave him a piece of my collection. I never once stated that I would work with him our his mall project.]

Fan MeiLi let out a sigh, she fully understood how Jenny felt about partnering with companies. That was why she had great difficulties to contact her friend on her bosses side. If Li Wei didn't have dirt on her she would have quit this job and left Jenny in peace. For a split second, Fan MeiLi thought she should take the risk and leave this job and all the problems Li Wei would bring into her life. The only problem she had was that as soon as she had that thought, that weird feeling came like a punch in her gut.

Taking a breath, ”Jenny, I would never ask if it wasn't important but at the very least can you think about the proposal that was sent to you, that was all I promised to my boss.” Fan MeiLi stated as soon as the CEO's door opened.

Seeing Li Na walk out with a frown, she stood up and gave her a bow before staring at Li Wei's door.

”I have to get back to work, Jenny, promise me you'll at least think about the proposal.” Fan MeiLi said in a hurry.

[Fine, but my sweet MeiLi I make no promise to agree to sign only to read over the contract once more.] Jenny finally said after a moment. Hearing that Jenny agreed to her offer, Fan MeiLi smiled and ended the call on a happy note.

Even though the meeting with Li Na had made Li Wei have a bad mood for the rest of the day, Fan MeiLi's day took a one-eighty after the terrible morning of hearing all the office gossip.
