15 Fairy Potion (1/2)
The magistrate slept little and worried a lot last days. He was waiting for the banquet that he had organized impatiently, saying to himself that it would probably change his ideas and help him relax.
In recent months, the work had accumulated and although he may consider himself the main security force and he is legally and locally the main representative of the Kingdom of Hent and its environs, the highest ranking officers of the army did not listen to him.
Every day was a torture for him. Daily negotiations so that he can exercise his authority from where most of the time he would come out loser and depressed.
The Colonel did not like him. The Reserve Captain hated him while making fun of his fatness when he did not even bother to answer him. To find a little support he had contacted the prefect and thought that this one in order to maintain this area in good order will certainly help him, but to his great despair this great man just answered him that to get out personally would prove his worth and thus help it to great future achievements. He found himself left behind in a sea of administrative and judicial problems that he had to try to solve by his own means, which admittedly were rather minimal.
Immersed in his thoughts, he saw himself in the capital like four years ago with his friends and family who supported him. [Ahhh I want to leave this damn place and return home.] One of her maids arrived at this moment to get him out of his momentary torpor, announcing that a young girl wanted an audience with him but that not knowing who she was the butler had let him wait at the door. Surprised that a girl wanted to see him, he left, followed by his maid. At the entrance, the butler stood as if he wanted to block the passage. What devotion and courage he thought of watching this butler protect the house with such a virile and heroic aura against a young woman. Arriving at the door, he looked at this girl. She was really beautiful and he had never seen more beautiful. A beautiful face, a dress a little too sexy and revealing for his young age. Yes in five or six years she would certainly attract a large number of men. But what was a little girl doing at her door? Although young women inquired about things with him or asked for help, all were old enough to get married and had to be engaged. What girl would knock on the door of an unaccompanied man? Lost in thought, he did not hear the young lady talking to him. This man was definitely very tired and deserved a long vacation.
Then he noticed that a small hand was pulling on his jacket. He reacts then. ”Forgive me, I was thoughtful. May I know who exactly I am honored and what is the reason for your presence here? ”
Ayleen found him immediately sympathetic and appreciated him. ” Hello Magistrate Lomparde, although I would have preferred to be welcome in your living room, we will nonetheless make our presentations according to your desires. We are lucky, the weather is nice and the heat is moderate. Everything is in place to have a constructive conversation while I stand outside and you inside. Mr. Lomparde, I will stop teasing you here. In principle, although you do not know it, we were to meet tomorrow. My father, who was supposed to attend your banquet, allowed me to take part in his place and in his name. My name is Ayleen Prishen, Princess of Saxony, which makes Duke Aurel Prishen my father. I came one day in advance to talk about private things, so it would be wrong if we continued our discussion here or are you reluctant to let me in?”
As soon as she had finished speaking Lomparde knew for sure the reason for her presence here. It was actually a very good thing, if they reached an agreement then it would be profitable for him. Moreover, since he had received this object, his sleep did not improve on the contrary.
He had just to hire three extra expensive guards to keep him safe because of this damn acquisition. This little princess could very well be the one who would finally get out of this tiring situation and this city that did not like her.
But he was very surprised. From what he knew about the little girl, it was said to be angry and cruel, but he did not feel it that way. Certainly she was a little mocking, but what noble young lady did not behave this way. He would not be offended by such a small thing. If he wanted to compare his little jokes to the affronts he suffered daily officers then all this would be just teasing for a harmonious relationship.
While he was still in deep thought, the same little hand brought him back to those senses. ”
Oh, my apologies again Princess, this magistrate certainly works a little too much for this city and lacks sleep. I hope you will not be mistaken in imagining that your presence bothers me. Forget all the tedious formalities and allow this Magistrate to lead you into the living room. Very comfortable chairs in which we can make the best naps are waiting for us and I speak in connoisseurs believe in my experience in this area.
Ayleen wanted to laugh but held back. This man was really funny but to contain himself was necessary for the moment. This dwelling was typical of the bourgeois houses of the empire, of wide corridors that stole the space of the rooms. The very elaborate decoration including its two fireplaces in the living room, ornaments and moldings everywhere on the walls and ceilings. Ceilings that were very high through did many massive beams. The woodwork was however not numerous but nicely worked.
The house must meet the needs of the person living there. It must best represent its social status. This house with its oversized living room was certainly built with this in mind. Built so that the host can organize large banquets and thus show themselves in society.
