Chapter 14: I Suddenly Couldn’t See the Titles (1)
Translator: Night Fury
“Aye...” Although I felt a strong stomachache due to the supernatural thing I had just encountered, I still couldn’t deceive myself by staying in the same place. Therefore, I continued to look into other places in this building.
There was a stairway to the second floor on the lower right, but I still wanted to search the whole ground floor first.
Then I started to search from the room on the upper left. When I pushed the door open, I found that it was actually a kitchen.
The moment I got into the room, the sweet smell of food struck my nose. I supposed it should be the smell of some meat soup. As my appetite being whetted, I began to feel hungry. Since I had cooked meals by myself over these years, I could tell that this soup was a high-grade master piece. I already had a good appetite after smelling it, which meant that it was qualified to be served in the restaurant.
“It’ll be better if I could eat croissant with the soup...” However, no one dared to eat the food from unknown source... The most important thing was that the food seemed to have been made just now when obviously there was no one here. Had all the people here disappeared?
No, that was not right... Having walked to the kitchen table, I used my index finger to touch the surface of the table and only rubbed a layer of dust. Clearly the table hadn’t been used for a long time. That was the only reason for the thick dust. However, it was so weird that there was a pot of soup on the table. The stranger thing was that there wasn’t any fire being lighted now, but the soup was still boiling... So, a boiling soup suddenly appeared in a kitchen which had never been used?
Could it be more strange?
“Anybody here?” Being totally reckless, I tried to shout that.
Of course, no one showed up.
After I had left the kitchen and returned to the dining room, I planning to go out from another door. However, something happened there which almost made me bite my tongue!
There was food being served on the table which I had lay on!
I rushed over to have a check. The smell from the food was exactly the same as the one in the kitchen. Besides, there was also a plate on which there was a croissant.
I frowned and thumped on the table. With a heavy sound, the soup spilled from the plate.
“... If anyone is there, show yourself now! Stop joking me!” I was standing there like a fool with deadly silence around me.
So the person who had done this to me had planned to play this game with me to the end.
Though I didn’t know who that was or why on earth he or she had locked me here, I still wouldn’t be terrified by the prank of this level.
After I had looked at the food on the dining table intently, I walked to the other door on the upper right of the dining room.
I opened the door and entered into a place which seemed like a hall. The large gate in my sight should be the entry of this mansion.
I made a solid deduction that the door wouldn’t be opened.
However, I still decided to have a try. As expected, the door was just like the other windows which couldn’t be opened. It seemed that it was not locked but was more like being drew on the wall, which cut me off from the outside.
“Gosh...” I sighed and turned around. Then I started to look around the structure of this mansion.
There was a huge clock in the hall, but was already broken. If it was still working, it should make the tick-tack sound.
Now the time on the clock stopped at eight fourth eight... I didn’t know what that meant.
There was also a long stairway to the second floor in the center of the hall with dark red carpet laying on it. Half of the wooden stairs had already been ruined. I couldn’t ’t help but wonder if the whole stairway would collapse if I walked on it.
There were also two doors on the left except for the door to the dinning room and another three doors on the right.
Since I had already made up my mind to search in the first floor, I would go to those rooms first.
While I was wandering in a huge mansion like this, I did feel a bit scared no matter how calm I was in the ordinary times.
I saw dust everywhere in this middle ages european style manor. It seemed that it had been a long time someone had lived in this place.
But when I looked at this building from the outside, this manor looked quite bright to me. Little did I know that it would be a ghost house... I wondered where all the other people had gone.
I had been the last but two persons to enter the manor. Only Yu Hui and Li Li who had called me because of some reason I hadn’t known had followed me at that time.
Then I shouldn’t be the only one who had fainted. Maybe Li Li and Yu Hui might also be at some places in this manor.
Because if they didn’t faint out, they wouldn’t sit there watching me being locked here. And I would have waked up in the ward of the hospital instead of the dining room of this manor.
Such being the case, I should find Yu Hui and Li Li first.
