Chapter 80 - The World Shall Know (2/2)

Axel put on some slippers. All of his Pokemons woke up. And with his Pokemons, he ran towards Mark's laboratory.

He had not expected 3 evolutions within 24 hours. First Charmeleon, then Espeon and now Umbreon. When life gives you happiness, it never comes in installment.

By the time he reached, he could see 3 people with their Pokemons, surrounding another Pokemon.

It was a Pokemon that had a sleek, black body with four slender legs and crimson eyes. It had two pairs of pointed teeth (one in the upper jaw and one in the lower jaw) which were visible when its mouth was open. It had long, pointed ears and a bushy tail, each with a yellow band around them. Its forehead and legs have yellow rings on them.

”Axel, thank Arceus you arrived. I don't think my heart to take all this happiness at once.” Said Mark hugging him tightly. Mark was on the roll right now. He and Axel had found a brand new type of Pokemon species, that had never been recorded in human history.

”Hmm, it seemed to be a dark type Pokemon. And Espeon is a psychic type. Both of these types are quite rare” Axel said examining Umbreon.

Unlike Espeon, Umbreon seemed to be slightly disturbed after evolution. But it quickly came to its normal nature.

”So, what do you want to call this Pokemon species?” asked Axel.

Unlike most of the Pokemons who say their name, like 'Bulba' said by 'Bulbasaur', Espeon and Umbreon just gave a cute roar. So they could not determine their species name. (This is different from anime as in anime, they call out their name)

Axel had named the psychic type as 'Espeon' and the group approved it.

”You are the head researcher, you choose it?” said Mark. ”But I already named Espeon. Why don't you choose a new name for this dark type?” said Axel.

”Axel, I may be greedy but not a hypocrite. You are the head researcher. You have invested years in it. I could not do it.”

Mark was adamant about this.

”Ok, I would call you Umbreon!!” announced Axel. ”Kooo” said Umbreon. It seemed happy with the name.

The group celebrated again. The party didn't stop till the morning.

”The world shall know the 2 new evolution of Eevee. This is a groundbreaking discovery and it is all because of this silver-haired boy. To Axel!!” said Mark raising his glass of whiskey.

”TO AXEL!” said the rest by raising their cup too. Axel was slightly embarrassed with this but was obviously happy.

”Mark since we made this new discovery, what are the benefits that we would get?” Axel asked finally.
