Although Aunt Cui was imperious, she always pretended to be elegant rather than rude in front of Xie Mengxuan. However, regardless of her face, she was crying her heart out on the ground.
Furrowing her eyebrows, Xie Mengxuan wanted to walk away but still felt unease. She took a deep breath for several times. “Aunt Cui, let’s have a sincere talk. What’s wrong?”
Aunt Cui had a look at her with sobs, and let out several loud cries. “Young lady, I want to tell you the truth while you have no desire to listen to me. I…I could not help crying for the future tough life. Go away. I’ve offended that man, and it seems to be impossible for me to seek connections with you. Why not let me die?”
Xie Mengxuan yielded to neither persuasion nor coercion. However, she failed to come up with any solution to this means of trick. It was unfeasible to sob her heart out on the ground like Aunt Cui. She would appear to be an idiot.
Staring at Aunt Cui, she let out a long sigh in the heart while she didn’t give in. She was not so silly as to be deceived by her appearance.
Aunt Cui turned her eyes. “As well it’s not our idea to force you to accept the trial of the River God. What’s more, your horoscope was said to be unfortunate, which was also the idea of the one behind the scene.”
All of a sudden, her words made Xie Mengxuan pull a long face. She squatted and lowered her voice. “What did you say?”
Aunt Cui wiped the tears on her face and took a deep breath. “Young lady, we’re staying outside, where it isn’t convenient for an important conversation.”
Xie Mengxuan glanced around. “There’s no one else in the village. Just tell me. Nobody could hear it.”
Aunt Cui was on the alert. “There are many people in the village. Who could claim to be definitely sure? Wall has ears. You must be better aware of this point than me.”
However, Xie Mengxuan glanced at the house behind her. “Your house must be safe?”
Aunt Cui let out a sigh and stood up. “The evidence has been hidden inside the room. It’s too noticeable to directly take it out. There might be some people who already came back instead of ascending the mountain.”
She had made a good sense. Worried about the several events, Xie Mengxuan desired to know the one behind the scene, with whom she could square the whole accounts.
“I’ll stay here instead of entering in. Why don’t you go to fetch the evidence? I’m going to enter in when seeing the evidence.”
Aunt Cui nodded and then returned to the room. She searched under the pillow in a careful way and took something out from her sleeve in secret. “Come to have a look, young lady.” She said in a hushed voice.
Xie Mengxuan squinted her eyes. Nevertheless, because of the bad weather and dim light, it took her some efforts. Shortly afterwards an incredulous expression flashed across her face. She could not help striding forward. The instant she entered in, she got a hit on her head so that she fell onto the ground with no strength.
Behind the door, Cui Zhuang was still holding up his hand. When he stared at Xie Mengxuan, a terrible look showed in his eyes.
“Mom, are we really going to do such a thing?” A little hesitant, Cui Zhuang frowned and put down his hand.
Aunt Cui went forward to lift Xie Mengxuan onto the bed with all her might. “She has reminded that we’re just in cooperation with that gentleman. When it’s over, he won’t cooperate with us. He only gives me a hand to leave here, but there is a lot of trouble outside. Considering this girl’s identity, if we could attach ourselves to her, we will live a wealthy life.”
Aunt Cui thought that if Xie Mengxuan knew it was she who had given the reminding, she must have been disturbed by a feeling of unease.
As long as she felt unease, Aunt Cui was at ease.
